Weidemann’s touchdown toss gives Warriors overtime victory

Western's Devin Weidemann threw for three touchdowns, including a 10-yarder to Dante Warren in overtime, to carry the visiting Warriors (2-6, 2-4 Southwest) to a 28-22 win over Durango.

Wiedemann also hooked up with Thomas Johnson for a 75-yard touchdown on Western’s first play. Johnson added a 97-yard kickoff return to begin the second quarter, tying the game at 14-all.

Durango’s Amean Galindon scored on a 4-yard run with 1:44 left in regulation, and Chase Roberts ran for the tying two-point conversion.

The Trailblazers had a chance to win in regulation, but Anthony Ramirez missed a 40-yard field-goal attempt as time expired.

Durango (1-8, 1-5) was led by Julio Mora, who gained 184 yards on 35 carries, including touchdowns of 10 and 3 yards.
