Faith Lutheran’s Dominic Paulos and Connor Bourne each needed less than a minute to record pin-fall victories and help clinch the Crusaders’ 39-35 victory visiting Palo Verde on Tuesday.
Paulos pinned his opponent in 42 seconds at 170 pounds, while Bourne needed 49 seconds to earn the victory at 182.
Kile Driscoll (106), Gabriel Rodriguez (113), Peter Enos (145) and Jonathan Bricker (160) also won by fall for Faith Lutheran, which beat the Panthers in a dual match for the first time in school history.
Dominick Uzzardo won by pin at 138 pounds for Palo Verde, which also got major decisions from Chandler Hall (132) and John Carpenter (195).
Cheyenne 54, Western 30 — At Cheyenne, the Desert Shields took advantage of six forfeits en route to the win over the Warriors.
Christopher Menzon (125), Calvin Abagin (132) and Wesley Federson (138) each had a first-period pin for Cheyenne.
Western’s Diego Ortega (113), Angelo Vigilia (120), Randel Rivera (145) and Jeremiah Walker (152) won by fall. Ortega, Vigilia and Walker each won in less than a minute, with Walker pinning his opponent in 18 seconds.
Centennial 72, Legacy 12 — At Centennial, the Bulldogs picked up seven pinsin a rout of the Longhorns.
Every match that was not forfeited ended in fall. Centennial’s Tucker Edwards ended his 152-pound match in just 18 seconds.
Michael Rodriguez at 106 pounds and Angel Flores at 120 pounds picked up victories by fall for the Longhorns.
Las Vegas 72, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, the Wildcats won every match on the way to a shut out of the Sundevils.
The Wildcats picked up five victories by fall, including one from Nathan Rhodes at 113 pounds in 39 seconds.
Las Vegas also had three victories by major decision.
