WRESTLING: Crowley, Cougars nip Rams

Randle Crowley posted a first-period pin at 138 pounds on Wednesday to lead Coronado’s wrestling team to a 39-36 road victory over Rancho.

Dean Gerber (170) and David Gerard (182) also posted pins for the Cougars.

The Rams dominated the lower weights, with Jeffrey Camal (106), Leiana Nacapuy (113), Joshua Egan (120) and Daniel Diaz (126) winning by fall.

Coronado 45, Desert Pines 24 — At Rancho, Giacomo Morris (113) won by pin in 59 seconds to help the Cougars to a win over the Jaguars.

Crowley (138), Daniel Hampton (152) and Brice Robinson (195) each collected a pin for Coronado.

Jonathan Velasco (160) won by pin for Desert Pines.

Rancho 54, Desert Pines 19 — At Rancho, Mario D’Angelo’s win by pin in 16 seconds at 195 pounds helped the Rams bounce back for a win over the Jaguars.

Nacapuy (113), Egan (120), Anthony Lopez (138), Alex Arnone (152) and Kwansi Cooper-Murray (220) each won by pin for Rancho.

Velasco (160) and Jorge Magana (182) each won by pin for Desert Pines.

Shadow Ridge 75, Legacy 6 — At Shadow Ridge, A.J. Thai Bautista (106) and Eduardo Crispin (132) each recorded a pin in 40 seconds to lead the Mustangs by the Longhorns.

Francisco Martinez (120), John Scarpati (182) and Tyler Carter (220) each won by pin for Shadow Ridge.

Jerimiah Campbell’s pin at 285 accounted for all of Legacy’s points.

Bonanza 52, Desert Oasis 27 — At Desert Oasis, the Bengals won six matches by pin en route to the win over the Diamondbacks.

Dylan Orchard (132), Adrian Valdez (152), Jonathan Mujica (160), Hector Montenegro (182), Elias Aguilar (220) and Tyler Weinand (285) each won by fall for Bonanza.

Bishop Spaur (126) and Ezekial Santacruz (195) each recorded a first-period pin for Desert Oasis.

Foothill 78, Basic 3 — At Foothill, Wyatt English (106) won by pin in 56 seconds, and the Falcons took advantage of 11 forfeits to rout the Wolves.

Jacob Chavez (132) also won by pin for Foothill.

Arbor View 35, Cimarron-Memorial 26 — At Arbor View, Alex Espinosa (220) won by fall, and the Aggies used two forfeits to edge the Spartans.

Cimarron’s Stanton Peay (138) and Davin Maiden (170) each pinned their opponent.

Green Valley 69, Eldorado 9 — At Green Valley, Sean Cannon pinned his opponent in 44 seconds at 132 pounds to help the Gators rout the Sundevils.

Jesse Gabriel (120), Nick Klanian (138), Adrian Ojeda (145), Giullian Nakamatsu (152), Jiar Meagher (160), Robert Razo (170), Jared Temple (182) and Cade Van Orden (195) also won by fall for Green Valley.

TreQuan Harris (113) posted a pin for Eldorado.
