WRESTLING: Arnone’s quick pin helps Rams edge Basic

Alex Arnone needed just 22 seconds to pin his opponent at 170 pounds Wednesday to lead Rancho’s wrestling team to a 39-33 home win over Basic.

Jeffrey Camal (106), Ishmael Dojaquez (113), Joshua Egan (126), Elvis Tlxaca (138) and Alejandro Ordoonez (182) also own by fall for the Rams.

Blake Dennett (120), Chamar Carter (132) and Eddy Ramirez (195) won by pin for the Wolves.

Spring Valley 70, Cheyenne 12 — Tyler Nishi-Rivera won by fall in just 20 seconds at 126 pounds to help the Grizzlies beat the Desert Shields.

Michael Canada (106), Scott Diaz (113) and Jesse Diaz (120) had first-period pins for Spring Valley. Matthew Hare (132), Kyle Anderson (138), Brisean Cunningham (160) and Zach Pakulak (170) also won by fall for the Grizzlies.

Cajuin Jackson (182) and Shon Lewis (220) posted pins for Cheyenne.

Green Valley 61, Foothill 15 — Daniel Brathor pinned his opponent in 20 seconds at 113 pounds to lead the Gators by the Falcons.

Steele Dias (106), Adrian Ojeda (152), Jared Temple (170), Robert Razo (182), Cade Van Orden (195), Salvatore Hicks (220) and Anthony Valenti (285) also won by fall for Green Valley.

Elyas Lizares (120) and Jacob Chavez (132) recorded pins for Foothill.

Las Vegas 51, Liberty 23 — At Liberty, the Wildcats won five matches by pin en route to the win over the Patriots.

Coronado 58, Eldorado 3 — At Eldorado, Michael Gale won by pin in 45 seconds at 195 pounds to help the Cougars rout the Sundevils.
