VOLLEYBALL: Whipple leads Panthers’ sweep of Hornets

Karley Whipple had 11 kills, six digs and three aces Friday to help host Pahranagat Valley’s volleyball team to a 25-13, 25-7, 25-14 win over Beatty.

Brook Higbee added 11 digs and seven aces, and Madison Harris had seven kills and three digs for the Panthers, who got 20 assists from Allyse Frehner.

Mountain View 2-2, Needles 0-0 — At Needles, Calif., the Saints swept the Mustangs, 25-18, 25-18 and 25-15, 25-16.

Word of Life 3, Round Mountain 0 — At Word of Life, the Eagles were 25-21, 25-17, 25-16 winners over the Knights.

Liberty Baptist 3, Innovations International 0 — At Liberty Baptist, the Eagles were 25-13, 25-10, 25-19 winners.
