VOLLEYBALL: Watkins, Patriots top Valley

Tiffany Watkins had nine kills, eight aces and 12 digs Thursday to help Liberty’s girls volleyball team to a 21-25, 25-15, 25-21, 25-19 win over visiting Valley.

Alex Farnsworth had eight kills, three aces and six digs, and Morgan Husli added 39 assists, five blocks and five digs for the Patriots.

Lisa Tauala had eight kills and two blocks, and Erika Martinez had 22 digs and three aces for Liberty.

Chantelle Rigby had five kills, 10 digs, three aces and two assists for the Vikings. JeCori Gladney added five kills, eight assists, three aces and two blocks, and Corinne Burton and Brittanie Jordan each had five kills for Valley.

Silverado 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Cyrene Solomon tallied 23 assists and eight digs to lead the Skyhawks to a 25-21, 25-16, 25-20 sweep of the Pioneers.

Emma Wenthe had 12 digs, and Kaylynn Smtih supplied four kills and four digs for Silverado.

Maureen Talice had six blocks, and Tea Rivera added five digs to lead Canyon Springs.

Arbor View 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Cimarron, Alyson Jeeves dished out eight assists, and Sofia Valenzuela had four kills to guide the Aggies to a 25-13, 25-17, 25-19 sweep of the Spartans.

Kasey Kershaw added four digs for Arbor View.

Zaquae Downton supplied 11 digs, and Alex Payan had eight digs to lead Cimarron.

Bonanza 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Bonanza, Sophie Cram had seven kills and six aces as the Bengals swept the Diamondbacks, 25-10, 25-14, 25-16.

Hayley Huntsman finished with six kills and four aces, and Taryn Warner added six kills for Bonanza. Teammate Claire Goodsell notched three aces and 21 digs.

Kaylee Burkhiser had four kills and 12 digs, and Alex Blockovich had three aces and 12 digs for Desert Oasis.

Pahrump Valley 3, Western 0 — At Pahrump, Shayla Dance had nine kills, and Alexis Trieb added seven kills as the Trojans swept the Warriors, 25-14, 25-18, 25-6.

Jill Smith had nine assists, and Taylor Kingsley had six assists for the Trojans.

Chaya Jordan led Western with two kills. Destiny Gonzalez had nine digs for the Warriors, and teammate Ada Alfaro had five assists.

Spring Valley 3, Clark 0 — At Spring Valley, Casey Van Hoose had 10 kills and 11 digs to help the Grizzlies to a 25-6, 25-18, 25-12 sweep of the Chargers.

Jessica Rafay added eight kills and 16 assists, and Danielle Amonica had five kills and nine assists for Spring Valley. Courtney Lance supplied six kills, and Hannah Karah had 14 digs for the Grizzlies.

Sierra Vista 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Cheyenne, Lexy Ross tallied three kills and two aces, and Caroline Sauder added three aces to lift the Mountain Lions to a 25-19, 25-18, 27-25 win over the Desert Shields.

Esther Durr compiled seven kills, eight blocks and six aces to lead Cheyenne.

The Meadows 2-2, Agassi Prep 0-0 — At The Meadows, Dani Otter had eight kills, eight digs and four aces, and Alex Rimoldi added seven kills and four aces to lead the Mustangs to a 25-8, 25-10 win over the Stars in the opener.

Missy Siegel finished with 18 assists and six digs, and Brooke Brennan had six kills and five digs for The Meadows.

In the second match, Brennan had five kills and nine digs, and Siegel tallied 17 assists and three aces as the Mustangs won, 25-11, 25-11.
