VOLLEYBALL: Ventling assists Las Vegas in win over Arbor View

Matti Ventling had 27 assists, 16 digs, six kills and two blocks Thursday to lead Las Vegas High’s girls volleyball team to a 25-23, 16-25, 29-27, 25-19 win over visiting Arbor View.

Charlai Francis had 12 kills and three blocks for the Wildcats, and teammate Sam Remer had 10 kills, 17 digs and five aces. Shaleea Butler added 20 digs, four kills and two aces for Las Vegas.

Jenna McClure led Arbor View with 32 assists. Tamani Simmons had 12 kills and two aces for the Aggies, who got 12 digs and four aces from Karli Beas.

Basic 3, Silverado 1 — At Basic, Nicole Mullins had 15 kills and 20 digs to help lead the Wolves past the Skyhawks, 25-22, 19-25, 26-24, 25-18.

Kyla Bohannon added seven kills and eight digs, and Kali Weires put down eight kills for Basic.

Lauren Purdy supplied five kills and five blocks, Melanie Srok notched nine kills, and Amari Norris recorded seven kills to lead Silverado.

Bishop Gorman 3, Clovis (Calif.) 1 — At Gorman, Gianna Ruggeroli had 20 kills and nine digs, and Emma Filosi supplied 29 assists, five digs and three kills to help the Gaels to a 25-22, 25-20, 22-25, 25-20 win over Clovis.

Emma Kirst added seven kills and six blocks, and Shelly Layman had 15 digs and four aces for Gorman. Victoria Ewalefo added four kills and seven blocks, and Cicely Bunker put down eight kills for the Gaels.

Sunrise Mountain 3, Tech 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Evelyn Lopez had four kills, 18 assists and nine aces to lead the Miners by the Roadrunners, 25-19, 25-9, 25-9.

Deanna Manning had eight digs and six kills, and Natalie Sharp recorded 10 digs and two kills for Sunrise Mountain.

Haylee Holsclaw had three kills, three aces and two blocks, and Kathy Hernandez supplied three kills for Tech.

Pahrump Valley 3, Del Sol 1 — At Del Sol, Payton Hart had nine kills to lead the Trojans to a 25-13, 25-20, 23-25, 25-22 win over the Dragons.

Bryana Soliwada had 10 assists, and Jillian Smith added nine assists for Pahrump, which got three blocks from Andi Bishop.

Azhwalaee Oliver paced Del Sol with five kills, five blocks and 26 digs.

Taylor Curtis added five kills and six assists for the Dragons, who got 37 digs from Christy Patinio and 30 digs from Sierra Morales.

Cheyenne 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Cheyenne, Erin McNally had 10 aces, and Endia Mack added five aces and five kills to help the Desert Shields to a 25-15, 25-22, 26-24 sweep of Canyon Springs.

The Desert Shields’ Bria Buchanan recorded five kills and four blocks, and teammate Ebony Cavaco posted 16 assists.

For Canyon Springs, Maureen Talice recorded seven kills and two blocks, Sidney Morris had four kills, and Tea Rivera added three aces and five assists.

Chaparral 3, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Carminda Greenstone had eight kills and seven digs as the Cowboys swept the Rattlers, 25-12, 25-23, 25-22.

Alejandra Macias had 24 assists and 10 digs, and Rebekah Sylcott added 15 digs for Chaparral.

Rayena Rael had 18 assists and four aces, and Leilani Limtiaco added seven kills and seven digs for Mojave, which got seven kills and four digs from Pamela Martin.

Moapa Valley 3, Virgin Valley 0 — At Mesquite, Bailey Owens had 12 kills to lead the Pirates to a 25-20, 25-22, 25-18 win over the Bulldogs.

Makenzie Bush added 10 kills and six aces for Moapa Valley.

Bernice Fiso led Virgin Valley with 10 kills. Janella Fiso and Jasmine Pulver each added 10 digs for the Bulldogs.

The Meadows 2-2, Lincoln County 0-1 — At The Meadows, Lena Schulhofer had 10 assists, nine digs and two aces in the opening match and 13 assists and 13 digs in the nightcap as the Mustangs downed the Lynx, 25-22, 25-23 and 10-25, 25-19, 15-12.

In the first match, Brooke Brennan had five kills and 19 digs, and Dani Otter added six kills, three aces and three blocks for The Meadows, which got four kills and four digs from Missy Siegel.

In the nightcap, Otter had 10 kills and three blocks, and Brennan supplied seven kills and nine digs for the Mustangs, who got 12 digs from Divya Ramakrishnan.

Kaitlin Cheeney had six assists in each match, and Chelsea Lloyd had four kills in each match for Lincoln County, which got four blocks and two kills in each match from Kayla Matthews.

Boulder City 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, the Eagles swept the Jaguars, 25-10, 25-15, 25-6.
