VOLLEYBALL: Armstrong, Saints win twice at Laughlin

Aariel Armstrong had seven aces and seven kills Friday to help Mountain View’s girls volleyball team earn a pair of wins at Laughlin.

The Saints won the opener, 25-20, 25-17 and took the nightcap, 25-15, 23-25, 15-9.

Natalie Gomez had eight aces, and Ally Whiting added 15 digs for Mountain View.

Faith Lutheran 2, Northwest Christian (Ariz.) 0 — At Phoenix, Cayla Nikodemus had nine kills and five digs to help Faith Lutheran top Northwest Christian, 25-12, 25-21 in the Nike Tournament of Champions.

Morgan Hill and Jordyn Dunseath each added six kills, and Megan Kronschnabel had 23 assists for Faith Lutheran.

Mesquite (Ariz.) 2, Faith Lutheran 0 — At Phoenix, the Wildcats were 25-14, 25-17 winners over the Crusaders in the Nike Tournament of Champions.

Dunseath had five kills, and Kronschnabel added 12 assists for Faith Lutheran.

Faith Lutheran also dropped a 25-14, 28-26 decision to Mountain Ridge (Ariz.).

Calvary Chapel 2-0, Lincoln County 0-2 — At Panaca, Alexis Harris had 10 kills in the opening match to help the Lions earn a split with the Lynx.

Calvary Chapel won the first match, 28-26, 25-21. Lincoln County took the nightcap 25-7, 25-22.

Marissa Tiemann added nine assists and five digs in the first match for the Lions. In the finale, Harris had four kills, and Noelle Miller had three kills for Calvary Chapel.

Chesnee Harding had two kills, two aces, four digs and nine assists, and Jillyn Katschke added six kills for Lincoln County in the opener. In the second match, Harding had nine digs, four aces and six assists, and Bridon Lewis had six kills and two blocks for the Lynx, who got three kills and three aces from Kayla Mathews.

White Pine 2-2, Needles 0-0 — At Needles, Calif., the Bobcats swept the Mustangs, 25-11, 25-11 and 25-11, 25-12.

Indian Springs 3, Lund 2 — At Indian Springs, the Thunderbirds outlasted the Mustangs, 27-25, 25-20, 18-25, 20-25, 15-11.

Beaver Dam 3, Round Mountain 0 — At Round Mountain, the Diamondbacks were 25-19, 25-16, 25-8 winners over the Knights.
