VEGAS INVITATIONAL: Panthers open tourney 3-0
Stephanie Herman dished out 13 assists and served three aces Friday to help Palo Verde complete a sweep of its three matches in the Las Vegas Invitational at Las Vegas High with a 25-14, 25-19 win over JW North (Calif.)
Kendall Cheval added five kills and four digs, and Madison Smith had four kills and two aces for the Panthers.
Palo Verde 2, Virgin Valley 0 — Herman had 15 assists and two aces, and Jenna Bobroski added six kills as the Panthers topped the Bulldogs, 25-9, 25-15.
Faryn Duncan had six digs for Palo Verde.
Palo Verde 2, Rancho 0 — Cheval spiked nine kills, and Herman contributed 18 assists and two aces in the Panthers’ 25-7, 25-12 sweep of the Rams.
Duncan supplied four aces for Palo Verde.
Faith Lutheran 2, Liberty 0 — At Green Valley, Gianni Perryman distributed 24 assists, and Courtney Hansen had six kills as the Crusaders topped the Patriots, 25-13, 25-20.
Taylor Hammer and Taylor Richards each had five kills for Faith Lutheran.
Faith Lutheran 2, Lake Mead 0 — At Green Valley, Perryman’s 20 assists and eight digs helped the Crusaders roll past the Eagles, 25-13, 25-20.
Hammer had seven kills, and Nicole Thompson served five aces for Faith Lutheran, which got four kills and four aces from Richards.
Bonanza 2, Faith Lutheran 1 — At Green Valley, the Bengals outlasted the Crusaders, 25-22, 17-25, 20-18.
Hansen had 13 kills, and Perryman dished out 28 assists for Faith Lutheran. Richards added nine kills, and Thompson contributed four digs for the Crusaders.
Calvary Chapel 2, Golden Valley (Calif.) 0 — At Green Valley, Brooke Davis piled up 14 assists, eight digs and two aces as the Lions downed Golden Valley, 25-16, 25-21.
Deja Harris had eight kills and four blocks, and Athena Lewis added six aces and four digs for Calvary Chapel.
Shadow Ridge 2, Calvary Chapel 0 — At Green Valley, the Mustangs were 25-22, 25-17 winners over the Lions.
Davis had nine assists, four digs and two aces, and Alexis Harris added eight digs, four kills, two blocks and two aces for the Lions.
