Small schools league roundup: The Meadows, Pahranagat Valley win titles

Dani Mason had 18 kills and 15 digs to power The Meadows’ girls volleyball team to a 25-17, 25-11, 25-16, victory over Calvary Chapel in the Class 2A Southern League championship match Saturday in Laughlin.

Anna Dorn had 17 kills, six kills and three aces for the Mustangs (30-4), Mira Gollard had 24 assists and 10 digs, and Dina Kosyagin had six digs, five kills and two blocks.

The Meadows’ Beau Thistle had seven kills and five digs, Vivian Pallares had 14 digs, and Emily Ebel had 10 digs.

The Lions finished the year 22-7.

The Meadows 3, Lake Mead 0 — At Laughlin, Beau Thistle had 12 kills and four blocks to lead the Mustangs to a 25-11, 25-14, 25-20, victory over the Eagles in the opening round of the Southern League tournament.

Dina Kosyagin had nine kills, nine blocks and two aces for the Mustangs, Anna Dorn had eight kills, 10 digs and two aces, Dani Mason had 11 kills, 13 digs and two aces, Vivian Pallares had 13 digs and two aces, and Mira Gollard gad 33 assists and 13 digs.

The Eagles finished 17-10.

Calvary Chapel 3, Lincoln County 0 — At Laughlin, the Lions defeated the Lynx, 25-14, 25-7, 25-13, in the opening round of the Southern League tournament.

The Lynx ended their year 13-12.

Pahranagat Valley 3, Tonopah 0 — At Alamo, the Panthers swept the Muckers, 25-14, 25-9, 25-12, to win the Class 1A Southern League tournament.

The Panthers ended their year 19-11.

The Muckers finished 17-4.

Pahranagat Valley 3, Liberty Baptist 0 — At Alamo, the Panthers defeated the Knights, 25-10, 25-10, 25-10, in the opening round of the Southern League tournament.

The Knights ended the year 15-15.

Tonopah 3, Beatty 0 — At Alamo, the Muckers beat the Hornets, 25-15, 25-20, 25-16, in the opening round of the Southern League tournament.

The Hornets ended the year 9-7.
