ROUNDUP: Velez helps Spartans outlast Pirates

Denise Velez had 10 kills, 10 digs and five aces Tuesday to help Cimarron-Memorial’s girls volleyball team outlast visiting Moapa Valley, 25-20, 23-25, 25-19, 21-25, 15-8.

Toree Manumaleuna added 10 digs and six kills for the Spartans.

Jenna-Kaya Charles had nine kills, and Merrik Frost added 25 assists for Cimarron.

Basic 3, Eldorado 0 — At Basic, Tara Patchett had five kills and four digs to help the Wolves sweep the Sundevils, 25-22, 25-20, 25-11.

Jackie Foust added five kills and two blocks for Basic.

Chelsea Sallender had eight aces for Eldorado, and Candace Watkins supplied eight kills.

Silverado 3, Las Vegas 1 — At Las Vegas, Silverado won, 25-23, 25-20, 22-25, 31-29.

Breanna Melton had 18 kills and 15 digs to lead the Wildcats. Natresha Bernard added 18 digs and 13 kills, and Tiffany Jackson had 32 assists and nine digs for Las Vegas.

Green Valley 3, Rancho 0 — At Rancho, Jenna Swaffer dished out 23 assists, and Alexa Drost collected 12 digs to help the Gators to a 25-14, 25-9, 25-9 win over the Rams.

Nikki Drost added eight kills and three aces for the Gators, and Emma Johnson totaled nine kills.

Tiffany Smith had 15 digs for Rancho.

Foothill 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Pamela Sakuma put down 10 kills, and Ashley Dowd dished out 23 assists to help lead the Falcons to a 25-13, 25-9, 25-11 sweep of the Jaguars.

Rhianna Gelhart added six aces for Foothill.

Jazzmin Avalos had five digs and four assists for Desert Pines.

Del Sol 3, Canyon Springs 1 — At Del Sol, Natalie Korzenowski tallied 13 kills, and Angela Johnson added seven kills to lead the Dragons to a 25-27, 25-15, 25-8, 25-10 win over the Pioneers.

Desiree Orozco dished out 25 assists, and Kaleileihua Cabanas supplied nine digs for Del Sol.

Faith Lutheran 3, Bonanza 1 — At Bonanza, Taylor Richards had eight kills, six blocks and seven assists to help the Crusaders to a 25-14, 25-18, 23-25, 25-19 victory over the Bengals.

Kelsey McCourt dished out 24 assists for Faith Lutheran, and teammate Vanessa Figman had nine kills. Paige Henderson posted seven blocks, and Courtney Hansen tallied 11 digs for the Crusaders.

Bree Hammel spiked 19 kills and Jessica Wilcox added 12 for Bonanza.

Liberty 3, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Liberty, Amanda Delgado had 10 kills and seven digs, and Kapua Akiona dished out 27 assists to lead the Patriots to a 25-21, 26-24, 18-25, 25-23 win over the Miners.

Nicole Fredericks added 13 digs and six kills for Liberty.

Jenae Cahhee had six kills and five aces, and Ciara Beal supplied 15 assists for Sunrise Mountain.

Coronado 3, Valley 1 — At Valley, Ally Davis served eight aces, and Katie Gamsky handed out 17 assists to help the Cougars earn a 25-10, 25-11, 18-25, 25-12 win over the Vikings.

Nyla Whalum had 15 digs, and Lenore Porter added 15 assists for Valley.

The Meadows JV 3, Adelson School 0 — At Adelson, The Meadows junior varsity team was a 25-17, 25-11, 25-20 winner over the Stars.

Allie Baracani had three kills for Adelson School.

Enterprise (Utah) 3, Lincoln County 0 — At Panaca, Enterprise picked up a 25-14, 25-12, 25-7 win over the Lynx.
