ROUNDUP: Stout strong as Mustangs outlast Mountain Lions
Mandy Stout dished out 36 assists Wednesday as Shadow Ridge’s girls volleyball team held off host Sierra Vista, 25-11, 26-24, 24-26, 23-25, 21-19.
Jasmine Burton had 21 digs, and Niehely Sosa added 15 kills for the Mustangs.
Kennedy Rosek had 14 digs for Sierra Vista. China Williams added 25 assists for the Mountain Lions, and Taylor Price finished with 13 kills.
Sunrise Mountain 3, Liberty 1 — At Sunrise Mountain, Kimbre’ana Jeffries had seven aces and five kills as the Miners downed the Patriots, 25-17, 17-25, 25-19, 25-23.
Tiara Veal added 12 assists and four kills, and Alicia Winchester supplied six kills, four blocks and three aces for Sunrise Mountain.
Rancho 3, Tech 0 — At Rancho, Chanel Eliason recorded five aces and six digs as the Rams swept the Roadrunners, 25-13, 28-26, 25-19.
Michaela Stankosky added five digs and four aces, and Daniele Corino had four digs for Rancho.
Needles JV 3, Adelson School 0 — At Adelson School, Needles’ junior varsity team posted a 25-20, 25-18, 30-28 win over the Lions.
Allie Baracani dished out eight assists for Adelson. Elie Steinberg added five kills and three digs, and Morgan Goodelman posted four aces and four kills for the Lions.
