ROUNDUP: Rott, Allen deliver in clutch as Cowboys slide past Miners

Taylor Rott dished out 32 assists, and Jaeda Allen had 21 kills and four blocks Thursday as Chaparral’s girls volleyball team rallied from a pair of one-set deficits to outlast visiting Sunrise Mountain, 25-27, 25-22, 11-25, 26-24, 15-10.

Cheyenne Huntsman had 12 digs and four aces for the Cowboys, who have won six straight matches.

Tiara Veal dished out 27 assists, and Samantha Venerable added 18 digs and two aces for Sunrise Mountain. Janae Yurek-Carhee contributed 14 kills and nine digs for the Miners.

Valley 3, Rancho 1 — At Valley, Lenore Porter distributed 16 assists, and Nyla Whalum had 21 digs in the Vikings’ 25-22, 25-23, 22-25, 25-23 win over the Rams.

Clarisa Herrera put down seven kills for Valley.

Dayna Yamaguchi led the Rams with 12 digs and 11 assists. Chanel Eliason supplied 11 digs, and Darje Martin had seven kills for Rancho.

Green Valley 3, Foothill 1 — At Green Valley, Jenna Swaffer dished out 42 assists, and Carly Schiess had 22 kills to lead the Gators to a 25-11, 25-12, 23-25, 25-23 victory over the visiting Falcons.

Sommer King added nine kills for Green Valley.

Emma Khachikian supplied 13 digs for Foothill, which got five kills apiece from Hunter Arboreen and Cortney Martin.

Las Vegas 3, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Desiree Lair tallied 10 kills and 14 digs, and Tiffany Jackson posted 34 assists and six kills as the Wildcats swept the Sundevils, 25-11, 25-15, 25-7.

Matti Ventling added 14 digs and six kills, and Carly Cottle had nine kills for Las Vegas.

Alexis Vaquero led Eldorado with five aces and six digs.

Silverado 3, Basic 0 — At Silverado, Kayla Agae posted 12 kills and 13 digs to lead the Skyhawks to a 25-18, 25-17, 25-20 sweep of the Wolves.

Morgan Little distributed 22 assists, and Lauren Tegtmeier had nine digs for Silverado.

Jordan Mullins had seven kills and six digs, and Tori Foutz added seven kills for Basic.

Coronado 3, Liberty 0 — At Liberty, Kuulei Piena posted 13 kills and seven digs, and Lia Herlosky tallied 28 assists as the Cougars swept the Patriots, 25-21, 26-24, 25-11.

Ally Keller added seven kills, and Charlie Speitz served five aces for Coronado.

Nicole Fredericks lead the Patriots with 20 digs and two aces. Tivina Nua supplied 12 kills and 10 digs, and Kaitlyn Kapral contributed nine kills and three blocks for Liberty.

Canyon Springs 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Canyon Springs, Sydney Morris and Emily Tuala each put down seven kills as the Pioneers swept the Jaguars, 25-17, 25-21, 25-16.

Natasha Montano had 12 assists and five aces for Canyon Springs.

Cynthia Zack led Desert Pines with 20 digs.

Del Sol 3, Tech 0 — At Tech, Desiree Orozco posted 31 assists and three aces as the Dragons cruised past the Roadrunners, 25-6, 25-8, 25-18.

Emie Coleman had 15 kills and six digs for Del Sol, which got five kills from Angela Johnson and six digs from Camille Santana.

Evelyn Lopez had five assists and two kills for Tech, and teammate Hannah Poscente added two kills.
