Roundup: Green Valley knocks off Silverado in 5 sets

Julia Whiting-Reed had 18 kills, two aces, seven digs and two blocks Wednesday to lead Green Valley’s girls volleyball team to a 25-10, 25-15, 11-25, 17-25, 15-11 victory over visiting Silverado.

Breanna Onori added 12 assists and 11 digs, and teammate Jade Lawrence had four aces and 14 digs for the Gators.

Audrey wood led Silverado with 13 kills, 12 digs and four blocks. Jenna DeSellems added 10 kills for the Skyhawks, who got four assists and eight digs from Isabella Mateo.

Mojave 3, Pahrump Valley 2 — At Pahrump, Chania Scott had 22 kills to lead the Rattlers over the Trojans, 25-19, 25-23, 20-25, 27-25, 15-12.

Aqeelah Muhammad had 42 assists, and Vany Carballo had 18 digs for Mojave.

Nicky Velazquez and Kathryn Daffer each had 16 kills for Pahrump.

Jacquellen Stobbe added 24 assists, and Tayla Wombaker had 12 assists for the Trojans.

Bishop Gorman 3, Foothill 0 — At Gorman, Angelina Starck dished out 21 assists in the Gaels’ 25-11, 25-7, 25-16 sweep of the Falcons.

Tommi Stockham had 17 kills, and Alexandra Washington added 12 kills for Gorman.

Brooke Bykowski supplied seven kills and four digs to lead Foothill, which got four digs from Haylee Zwahlen.

Desert Oasis 3, Clark 0 — At Desert Oasis, Kierston-Joy Kuresa supplied nine kills, seven digs, and five aces in the Diamondbacks’ 25-12, 25-16, 25-16 sweep of the Chargers.

Sophia Parlanti tallied eight kills, six digs, and four aces, and Nathalie Van added 21 assists for Desert Oasis.

Briannah Paras led Clark with nine assists, and teammate Coraly Dupree had four kills and two blocks.

Liberty 3, Basic 1 — At Basic, Jordyn Emmons supplied 11 digs and 10 kills as the Patriots beat the Wolves, 25-15, 25-15, 18-25, 25-23.

Aiyana Evans had 14 assists, four aces and four digs, O’ceana Clemens supplied 14 assists and four digs, and Alana Chun tallied 13 digs for Liberty.

Chloe Ludemann led Basic with 10 kills. Lauren Powell and Keonna Richardson each had six kills for the Wolves.

Durango 3, Spring Valley 0 — Tehani Faitau had 21 assists and four aces as the Trailblazers took down the Grizzlies, 25-11, 25-11, 25-7.

Jaylin Ellis had nine kills and 12 digs for Durango.

Sierra Vista 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Sierra Vista, Matlyn Ua had 15 assists as the Mountain Lions defeated the Spartans, 25-17, 25-19, 25-23.

Caleyse Saunders and Audrey Dayton each had nine kills for Sierra Vista.

Destiny Garcia had 22 assists and two digs for Cimarron. Natasha Obradovic had 15 kills and 13 digs for the Spartans.

Coronado 3, Tech 0 — At Tech, Dallas Balanay-Flores had 23 assists and three aces in the Cougars’ 25-12, 25-5, 25-12 sweep of the Roadrunners.

Jaden Snyder supplied 10 digs and eight kills, and teammate Morenike Ajayi added 10 digs for Coronado.

Makenna Faught had nine assists, and Cadie Espe tallied four digs and three kills to pace Tech.

Boulder City 3, Moapa Valley 0 — At Overton, Ava Wright had 30 assists, four aces and eight digs as the Eagles defeated the Pirates, 25-16, 25-17, 25-19.

Kamry Bailey had 12 kills, five aces and eight digs for Boulder City, and Rachel Krumm had eight kills and four digs for the Eagles.

Abbie Evans had six kills and 14 digs to lead Moapa Valley.

Somerset-Losee 3, Democracy Prep 1 — At Democracy Prep, Bella Pelupelu had 12 assists and 11 aces as the Lions defeated the Blue Knights, 23-25, 25-16, 25-21, 25-16.

Taylor Kelly had seven digs, and Morgan Dowdy had five kills for Somerset-Losee.

Morgan Dowdy had five kills for the Lions.

Sky Pointe 3, Chaparral 0 — At Sky Pointe, Jocelyn Sanders had seven kills to lead the Eagles over the Cowboys, 25-17, 25-19, 25-11.

Jayden Sanders added five kills and eight aces, and teammate Katie Piet had five kills for Sky Pointe.
