ROUNDUP: Drost rallies road Gators past Cougars

Nikki Drost had 14 kills and 13 digs to help Green Valley’s girls volleyball team storm back for a 25-27, 25-15, 25-17, 25-21 road win over Coronado in a Southeast League showdown Monday.

Carly Schiess supplied 10 kills and 10 digs for Green Valley, and Sommer King tallied 11 kills and two blocks.

Alexa Drost had 13 digs for the Gators, and Jenna Swaffer dished out 31 assists.

Kuulei Piena posted six kills and 12 digs for Coronado, and teammate Ally Keller tallied eight kills and five blocks.

Lia Herlosky added 18 assists and 10 digs for the Cougars, who got seven kills from Charlie Spietz.

Rancho 3, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Rancho, Dayna Yamaguchi had 21 assists, and Chanel Eliason added 15 digs and three aces to lead the Rams past the Miners, 26-24, 25-24, 21-25, 25-18.

Morgan Johnson had 10 kills, and Danielle Carino added five kills for Rancho.

Imani Kroon delivered 11 assists and two kills for Sunrise Mountain. Teammate Alicia Winchester had 11 kills and two blocks, and Keaunna Johnson added 11 digs.

Eldorado 3, Canyon Springs 1 — At Eldorado, Alexis Vaquero had 16 kills and five aces to lead the Sundevils past the Pioneers, 23-25, 25-17, 25-21, 25-22.

Sarah Kanet added eight kills for Eldorado, and teammates Abigail Allen and Janae Keele each had six aces.

Natasha Montano distributed 21 assists for Canyon Springs.

Silverado 3, Del Sol 1 — At Del Sol, Lauren Purdy had seven kills and four blocks, and teammate Paulina Dudunakis recorded five aces, eight digs and five assists as the Skyhawks defeated the Dragons, 30-28, 25-15, 24-26, 25-12.

Angela Johnson posted nine kills to lead Del Sol, and Desiree Orozco added 10 assists for the Dragons.

Palo Verde 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Palo Verde, Stephanie Herman recorded 27 assists, five aces and four digs, and teammate Faryn Duncan had 14 digs and two aces as the Panthers swept the Spartans, 25-13, 25-14, 25-20.

Lexi Riggs added seven kills, five aces and four digs for Palo Verde, and Mikayla Diers added five kills and five blocks for the Panthers.

Toree Manumaleuna had eight kills and nine digs to lead Cimarron. Erica Padilla added 12 assists, and Chalon Henderson supplied five kills for the Spartans.

Las Vegas 3, Chaparral 0 — At Las Vegas, Desirae Lair had nine digs, eight kills and four aces to lead the Wildcats past the Cowboys, 25-8, 25-10, 25-7.

Tiffany Jackson added 22 assists and five digs for Las Vegas, and teammate Katie Mathews logged eight digs and five aces.

Valley 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Zoe Galindo had 13 kills and three aces to lead the Vikings past the Jaguars, 28-26, 25-16, 25-9.

Lenore Porter had 31 assists, four kills and two aces, and Nyla Whalum added nine digs for Valley.

Desert Pines’ Cynthia Zack had 17 digs, and Jurissa Balance served two aces for the Jaguars. 

Foothill 3, Tech 0 — At Foothill, Nicolette White had nine kills as the Falcons swept the Roadrunners, 25-22, 25-16, 25-14.

Evelyn Lopez led Tech with two aces and 11 assists.

Basic 3, Liberty 0 — At Basic, Kamisha Richardson had seven kills and seven digs to lead the Wolves to a 25-13, 25-15, 25-17 victory over the Patriots.

Wendy Williams had 22 assists, four aces and four kills, and teammate Tori Foutz added nine kills and two blocks for Basic.

Sandy Valley 3, Adelson School 0 — At Sandy Valley, the Sidewinders topped the Lions, 25-23, 25-17, 25-18.
