LADY TROJAN INVITE: Ridley helps Calvary Chapel to 2-1 first-day record
Bri Ridley collected 10 kills, six digs and two aces Friday as Calvary Chapel’s girls volleyball team completed the first round of pool play at the Lady Trojan Invitational in Pahrump with a 25-13, 17-25, 15-12 win over Lake Mead.
Laura Perri dished out 12 assists for the Lions, who also got eight kills from Deja Harris and seven digs and three kills from Brettani Davis.
Ashley Newton, Megan Watkins and Anny Liston each had five digs for the Eagles. Netwon added 11 kills, and Watkins distributed 12 assists.
Calvary Chapel 2, Desert Oasis 1 — Davis had 19 digs and two kills as the Lions rallied for a win over the Diamondbacks, 21-25, 25-19, 19-17.
Ridley added 15 kills, and Perri dished out 15 assists for the Lions.
Tonopah 2, Calvary Chapel 1 — The Muckers posted a 21-25, 25-19, 16-14 win over the Lions.
Davis had 17 digs, and Perri served seven aces for Calvary Chapel.
In other matches in the tournament, Pahrump Valley and White Pine each went 3-0 in pool play.
Desert Oasis 2, Lake Mead 1 — The Diamondbacks outlasted the Eagles, 25-23, 23-25, 15-9.
Newton had nine kills and three blocks for the Eagles. Watkins dished out 12 assists, and Liston added six digs for Lake Mead.
Tonopah 2, Lake Mead 0 — The Muckers were 25-18, 25-19 winners over the Eagles.
Watkins distributed eight assists for Lake Mead. Liston added five digs, and Newton had four kills.
A second round of pool play is scheduled for Saturday, with bracket play to follow.
