DIVISION IV: Tonopah’s VanPoucke named Southern League MVP
Tonopah’s girls volleyball team ended Pahranagat Valley’s streak of three straight state titles this fall, and the Muckers swept the top awards when the Division IV Southern League coaches picked their all-league team.
Tonopah’s Deanna VanPoucke was named the league’s Most Valuable Player, and Judi Boni took Coach of the Year honors after guiding the Muckers to the title.
Tonopah’s Alli Friel and Sydney Maughan also made the all-league first team.
Rounding out the team were Indian Springs’ Victoria Carpener and Heather Thormahlen, and Pahranagat Valley’s Kennedy Huntsman, Traci Strong and Bailee Hosier.
