VOLLEYBALL: Ryan Garlick’s 28 kills send Coronado past Silverado

Ryan Garlick had a match-high 28 kills to lead Coronado’s boys volleyball team to a 25-19, 25-14, 23-25, 25-21 win at Silverado on Thursday.

Nik Purser had 10 kills, Matt Wilson dished out 51 assists, and Andrew Corrales had 18 digs for the Cougars.

Jaden Keomaka had 11 kills and seven digs to lead the Skyhawks.

Devin Ross had six kills and two blocks, and Cody Steckel had three kills, 10 digs and 23 assists for Silverado.

Del Sol 3, Western 1 — At Western, Yerovys Vargas-Gill had 16 kills in the Dragons’ 17-25, 27-25, 25-19, 25-19 win over the Warriors.

Alan Ramos-Flores had 19 assists, and Nathaniel Barton added 11 kills for Del Sol.

Anthony Dodson had 20 kills to lead Western. Justin Jones supplied 20 assists, and teammate Brandon Grajeda notched nine kills for the Warriors.

Basic 3, Liberty 0 — At Liberty, Jacob Fulton had nine kills, three aces and eight blocks to help the Wolves down the Patriots, 25-23, 25-16, 25-20.

Matt Gajeski added two kills and 25 assists, and Dallas Green had two kills and nine blocks for the Wolves.

Lucas Husli led Liberty with 15 kills, two aces and 15 digs. Josiah Mamea had six kills, and Rolence Sitiene had two digs for the Patriots.

Green Valley 3, Foothill 0 — At Green Valley, James Reed had 13 kills, four aces and three blocks in the Gators’ 25-20, 30-28, 25-22 win over the Falcons.

Tanner Casto added 12 kills for Green Valley.

Richard Reid led Foothill with nine kills, two aces and nine digs. Tanner Lester had nine kills and six digs for the Falcons.

Palo Verde 3, Legacy 0 — At Palo Verde, Kainoa Villa had 15 assists to help lead the Panthers to a 25-8, 25-18, 25-16 sweep of the Longhorns.

Haden Van Orden had 10 assists, and Ben Brady added seven kills for Palo Verde.

Chriss Quezada had 11 digs, and teammate Christian Brown supplied six kills for Legacy.

Centennial 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Centennial, Antwaun Smith had eight kills and three blocks in the Bulldogs’ 25-17, 25-16, 25-16 victory over the Spartans.

Kade Frischknecht added eight kills and 12 digs, and Sam Belnap had 17 assists, four aces and 10 digs for Centennial.

Cimarron’s Erick Forbush had nine kills and three digs, and Edher Aldaco notched 18 assists and four digs for the Spartans.

Mojave 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Mojave, Joseph Silva put down seven kills in the Rattlers’ 25-11, 25-10, 25-8 win over the Jaguars.

Antonyo Wright added five kills, and Juan Valdez had 14 assists for Mojave.

Joshua Moran led Desert Pines with three kills.

Cheyenne 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Cheyenne, Tyler Buchanan had 15 kills as the Desert Shields defeated the Miners, 22-15, 20-25,20-25.

Brian Orellana had 31 assists and 15 digs, and E.J. Yearby had 16 digs for the Desert Shields.

Tech 3, Chaparral 0 — At Chaparral, Gary Johnson had eight kills to lead the Roadrunners to a 25-11, 25-13, 25-19 win over the Cowboys.

Collin Faught had 14 assists and two aces, and Devin Wade had four kills for Tech.
