VOLLEYBALL: E.J. Yearby, Cheyenne rally past Del Sol after dropping first set

E.J. Yearby had six aces and 22 digs to lead Cheyenne’s boys volleyball team to a 20-25, 25-19, 25-16, 25-16 home win over Del Sol on Monday.

Tyler Buchanan added 20 kills, Brian Orellana had 34 assists, and Moses Cabrera had three aces and six digs for Cheyenne.

Yerovys Vargas-Gill led Del Sol with 12 kills and four blocks. Nathaniel Barton had nine kills and seven blocks, Alan Ramos-Flores had 21 assists, and Clinton Cavosora had 14 digs for the Dragons.

Mojave 3, Tech 0 — At Tech, Antonyo Wright had 19 kills as the Rattlers defeated the Roadrunners, 25-21, 25-23, 25-17.

Joseph Silva added 10 kills for Mojave, and teammate Juan Valdez had 39 assists.

Collin Faught led Tech with 11 assists, three aces and two kills. Zach Draper added five kills for the Roadrunners.

Chaparral 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Chaparral, Ben Kirschbaum had 12 kills, four blocks and two aces to lead the Cowboys to a 25-22, 25-16, 25-15 victory over the Jaguars.

Sam Realica added 23 assists for Chaparral.

Luis Rodriguez had five blocks and four aces to lead Desert Pines. Joshua Moran added seven digs, and Heriberto Mireles had four assists and two kills for the Jaguars.

Western 3, Sunrise Mountain 2 — At Sunrise Mountain, Anthony Dodson had 31 kills and five blocks to lead the Warriors to a 25-22, 25-27, 16-35, 25-16, 15-8 win over the Miners.

Leonel Acosta-Trevizo added 22 assists and four kills, and Justin Jones had five assists and four blocks for Western.
