VOLLEYBALL: Curi, Falcons rally to top Wilcats

Colin Curi had 12 kills and seven digs on Wednesday as Foothill’s boys volleyball team rallied for a 25-19, 16-25, 26-28, 25-20, 15-8 victory over host Las Vegas.

Shilo Chow had 38 assists, three aces and five digs, and Steve Robison had nine kills, nine digs and two blocks for the Falcons. Johnny Rolle added seven kills and four blocks for Foothill.

Ryan Magante led the Wildcats with 17 kills and 15 digs.

Kenneth Buen added 14 digs for Las Vegas, and teammate Royce Reyes had 21 assists, 10 digs and three aces.

Coronado 3, Valley 2 — At Valley, Samuel Cox dished out 58 assists to lead the Cougars to a 27-25, 28-30, 25-14, 13-25, 15-10 win over the Vikings.

Karriem Beyah had 20 kills, and Travis Little supplied 15 digs and 14 kills for Coronado, which got 15 digs from Nathan Gerrard.

Marty Heavy had 20 kills and 19 digs, and Jared Marchello had 10 digs, nine kills and fives aces for Valley. Alex Sandoval added 34 assists for the Vikings.

Green Valley 3, Silverado 1 — At Silverado, Dustin Elliott had 14 kills and 12 digs as the Gators rallied by the Skyhawks, 22-25, 25-15, 25-21, 25-19.

James Reed added 12 kills and six digs for Green Valley.

Cody Steckel contributed 33 assists and 15 digs, and teammate Tyler Gralapp notched 13 kills and seven digs for Silverado, which got 11 digs and nine kills from Taz Goon.

Rancho 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Douglas Candido had 17 assists, and Lamont Traylor supplied seven kills and four blocks as the Rams swept the Pioneers, 25-4, 25-10, 25-14.

Ryan Hafen added six digs and four kills for Rancho.

Canyon Springs’ Celso Balmes had three digs, and Maurice Hunter had two blocks for the Pioneers.

Liberty 3, Basic 0 — At Liberty, Brycen Ivester had 20 assists, and Brandon Baliza had seven kills and three aces to help the Patriots beat the Wolves, 29-27, 25-15, 25-16.

Daniel Lusung had eight kills, and Ryan Tobias supplied four assists and three kills for Liberty.

Basic’s Brad McDonald had 10 kills, and Aeneas McAllister had five kills and three blocks for the Wolves.

Desert Oasis 3, Eldorado 0 — At Desert Oasis, Saunoa Afoa had nine kills as the Jaguars swept the Sundevils, 25-10, 27-25, 25-16.

Ailey Asulin had 19 assists, and Nainoa Gardner added six kills for Desert Oasis.
