ROUNDUP: Snook, Trailblazers rally past Chargers

Caleb Snook had 20 assists, five kills and two aces, and Daniel Bernard had 11 kills and eight blocks Friday to rally Durango’s boys volleyball team to a 20-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-21, 16-14 win over visiting Clark.

Dex Alston had nine kills, four assists and three aces, and Brendan Kennedy added 11 kills and four blocks for Durango, which got nine kills and seven digs from Ernesto Dominguez.

Taeg Williams distributed 32 assists to pace the Chargers. Jerhemy Babers added 13 kills and four blocks, and James Ousley contributed 11 kills, four aces and two blocks for Clark.

Canyon Springs 3, Eldorado 2 — At Eldorado, Carl Esteban had 33 assists, and Eivan Nafarrete had 27 digs as the Pioneers outlasted the Sundevils, 25-23, 18-25, 25-22, 21-25, 15-10.

Immanuel Tufuga added 12 kills for Canyon Springs.

Dakota Schulz had 11 kills and eight blocks, and Joey Barnhurst had 35 assists to lead Eldorado. Joey Smith supplied 16 kills, and David Tran had 12 kills for the Sundevils, who got 14 digs from Rashard Chambers.

Valley 3, Desert Pines 1 — At Desert Pines, Peter Nunes tallied 41 assists and 10 digs to power the Vikings to a 25-20, 23-25, 25-14, 25-10 win over the Jaguars.

Jack Heavey recorded 18 kills and nine digs, and Ignacio Diaz had 12 kills for Valley.

Bryan Garcia put up 17 digs, and Trevor Krystek notched 15 assists and six kills for Desert Pines, which got 10 kills from Thomas Hooper.

Bishop Gorman 3, Spring Valley 1 — At Spring Valley, Chris Shea had 40 assists and five digs as the Gaels outlasted the Grizzlies, 25-21, 24-26, 32-30, 25-15.

Amadeus Sowa supplied 10 kills and five blocks, and Brian Fulmara added 15 kills and two blocks for Gorman.

DeShaun Nowlin paced Spring Valley with 20 kills and 22 digs. Vin Cortorillo added 16 digs, and Donald Keith had nine kills and five digs for the Grizzlies.

Bonanza 3, Western 0 — At Western, Mitchell Barnes dished out 26 assists, and Kellen Layne had 12 kills as the Bengals clinched the Southwest League’s No. 1 seed for the Sunset Region playoffs with a 25-14, 25-15, 25-23 sweep of the Warriors.

Kenny DeSoto added 16 digs, and Nick Bass and John King each had four aces for Bonanza.

Derick Rinfrow had three kills and three blocks, and Vadell Wilson had four blocks and three kills for Western, which got four assists and two kills from Braeden Smith.

Las Vegas 3, Chaparral 0 — At Chaparral, Garrett Jones had 15 kills and five digs, and Evany Diaz dished out 26 assists as the Wildcats clinched at least a share of the Northeast League title with a 25-14, 25-14, 25-14 sweep of the Cowboys.

Jace Turner added seven blocks and five kills, and Blake Burgess had six kills and two blocks for Las Vegas.

Pierce Morgan had 14 assists, and Jesus Botello supplied 12 digs and two aces for Chaparral.

Sierra Vista 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Desert Oasis, Garrett Clifton had 10 kills and three blocks, and Paolo Lee had 34 assists to lead the Mountain Lions over the Diamondbacks, 25-23, 25-14, 25-17.

Clyde Balagtas added nine kills for Sierra Vista.

Alex Trillo paced Desert Oasis with 20 assists and seven digs. Tanner Dupree had 10 kills and three blocks, and Tailer Bowen added five kills and three blocks for the Diamondbacks.

Rancho 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Rancho, Guillermo Silva collected 16 kills and three aces, and Kendall Reynolds distributed 32 assists as the Rams swept the Miners, 25-20, 25-10, 25-21.

Mark Sanchez had 10 digs, and R’Mond Hill added seven kills for Rancho.

Foothill 3, Del Sol 0 — At Foothill, Caleb Hutchinson had 14 kills to lead the Falcons to a 25-15, 25-13, 25-15 win over the Dragons.

Kendell Andrews added 12 kills for Foothill, and Clancey Gillies had 21 assists.

Nathan Kirschbaum had six kills to lead Del Sol, which got four kills from Kevin Kaitschuk.
