ROUNDUP: Ngarmnet, Desert Pines boys hold off Pioneers

Justin Ngarmnet had 26 digs and four aces to help Desert Pines’ boys volleyball team edge visiting Canyon Springs, 15-25, 25-22, 25-23, 22-25, 16-14 on Friday.

Bryan Garcia helped the Jaguars with 20 assists, and teammate Travis Nofoa added eight kills.
Immanuel Tufuga led Canyon Springs with 25 kills and 12 digs, and Tim Straghter added eight kills for the Pioneers.

Tech 3, Basic 2 — At Basic, Josh Wood had 35 assists, six digs and three kills to lead the Roadrunners to a 17-25, 18-25, 25-18, 25-19, 17-15 victory over the Wolves.

Tyler Gardenhire had 14 kills, nine digs and six blocks, and Omar Mena added nine kills for Tech, which got eight kills, four digs and nine blocks from Miguel Garcia.

Dylan Green led Basic with 12 kills and six blocks, and Taylor Dyer added 34 assists for the Wolves.

Spring Valley 3, Clark 1 — At Spring Valley, Jim Tran had 15 kills and 16 digs to lead the Grizzlies to a 25-13, 25-21, 24-26, 25-18 win over the Chargers.

James Nunez had 22 assists, and Donald Keith added nine kills and seven blocks for Spring Valley, which got 10 digs from Wayne Luk.

Legacy 3, Eldorado 1 — At Legacy, Tanner Compton had 16 kills, 11 digs and two blocks as the Longhorns defeated the Sundevils, 19-25, 25-17, 25-16, 27-25.

Trent Compton had 17 kills, and Zaire Franklin and Antoine Tilmon each had seven kills for Legacy.

David Tran led Eldorado with nine kills. Joey Barnhurst added 24 assists, and Michael Ahn had eight blocks for the Sundevils.

Las Vegas 3, Sierra Vista 0 — At Las Vegas, T.J. Esporsa had 13 kills, seven digs and three blocks as the Wildcats downed the Mountain Lions, 25-10, 25-19, 25-21.

Blake Burgess added six kills and four blocks, and Darnell Lewis added six kills and two blocks for Las Vegas.

Tyler Hollings had five kills for Sierra Vista.

Coronado 3, Rancho 0 — At Rancho, Logan Dickover had 23 assists and four blocks to help the Cougars roll past the Rams, 25-10, 25-17, 25-16.

Max Osmundson (nine kills, six digs, two aces), Austin Loveland (five kills, four blocks) and Coltin Romney (10 digs) also helped Coronado.

Aaron Robles led Rancho with 10 assists and three kills.

Shadow Ridge 3, Bonanza 0 — At Bonanza, Richard Sterling had 14 kills to lead the Mustangs to a 25-18, 25-14, 25-23 victory over the Bengals.

A.J. Makaiwi added eight digs, and Quinn Peterson had four blocks and six kills for Shadow Ridge.

Kellen Layne and Andrew Jensen each had six kills and two blocks for Bonanza.
