ROUNDUP: Miranda, Seager push Mountain Lions to win over Grizzlies
Preston Miranda dished out 31 assists, and Cody Seager had 16 kills and six blocks Tuesday to lead Sierra Vista’s boys volleyball team to a 25-13, 25-14, 19-25, 29-27 win at Spring Valley.
Cameron Carlson added seven kills for the Mountain Lions.
Dallas Teshima tallied 25 assists, and Khoa Nguyen had seven kills and five blocks for the Grizzlies.
Bishop Gorman 3, Western 0 — At Western, Matt Lychock had four kills, and Cameron Tom distributed 31 assists to lead the Gaels to a 25-11, 25-5, 25-17 rout of the Warriors.
Ben Carter added three aces for Gorman.
Durango 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Desert Oasis, Jake Jackson dished out 25 assists, and Kevin Peterson had seven kills and three aces as the Trailblazers cruised past the Diamondbacks 25-8, 25-18, 25-12.
Gary House added eight kills for Durango.
Trevor Zarvian had 10 assists for Desert Oasis.
Valley 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Valley, Carl Ajuziem had 25 assists to lead the Vikings to a 25-9, 25-17, 25-19 sweep of the Pioneers.
Ajuziem and Julio Fierro each had eight kills for Valley.
Eric Gutierrez posted 17 kills, and Adrian Snow added 12 for Canyon Springs.
Rancho 3, Chaparral 0 — At Rancho, Antonio Boucher had 10 kills, and David Silva supplied five kills and four aces as the Rams swept the Cowboys, 25-10, 25-14, 25-14.
Kevin Plasencia added five kills and five aces for Rancho.
Tylor Muse led Chaparral with five kills and four blocks.
Las Vegas 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Las Vegas, Luke Hansen tallied 22 assists, three aces and four digs, and Tyler Wilson supplied seven digs, three kills and two aces as the Wildcats topped the Jaguars, 25-11, 25-9, 25-11.
Braeden Wilson added 11 kills and three digs for Las Vegas.
Daniel Aguilar had 12 digs to lead Desert Pines.
Sunrise Mountain 3, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Damon Burton distributed 32 assists, and Alex Benitez spiked 11 kills to help the visiting Miners sweep the Sundevils, 25-20, 25-19, 27-25.
Phillip Fregoso added seven kills for Sunrise Mountain.
