Roundup: Liberty outlasts Bonanza

Martin Velasco had 63 assists to lead Liberty’s boys volleyball team to a 25-15, 11-25, 17-25, 26-24, 19-17 home victory over Bonanza on Friday.

Pascual Chavez had 18 kills, and Troy-Toese Fautanu had 14 kills for the Patriots. Tanner Billiu added nine kills, and Atapana Malele-Faaifo had 37 digs for Liberty.

Kadin Warner led the Bengals with 16 kills and nine digs. Mark Thuet added 12 kills, five aces and six digs for Bonanza, and teammate James Mead had 41 assists and six aces.

Las Vegas 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Cheyenne, Shaun Kampshoff had 10 kills, five aces and 15 assists to lead the Wildcats past the Desert Shields, 25-13, 25-19, 25-23.

Leander Gates had six kills, and Kevin Sweitzer dished out 12 assists for Las Vegas.

Brain Orellana had nine kills and seven assists to lead Cheyenne.

Brandon Willcoxson had four kills, and Ethan Cruz had 12 digs for the Desert Shields.

Desert Oasis 3, Spring Valley 0 — At Desert Oasis, Liam Morrissey had 12 kills as the Diamondbacks swept the Grizzlies, 25-20, 25-17, 25-15.

Desert Oasis’ Josh Bastin had 12 assists, Tyler Sadama had 12 digs, and Noah Skrinak also had 10 assists.

Spring Valley’s Alan Quach had 11 assists, and teammate Kobe Shields had four kills.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Basic 0 — At Cimarron, Kilmore Amore had nine kills, two aces and five digs to lead the Spartans past the Wolves, 25-18, 25-20, 27-25.

Jameson Valencia had eight kills and eight digs, Blake Thomas had seven kills and five digs, and Fred Tito had seven kills and five digs for Cimarron.

Del Sol JV 3, Somerset-Losee 1 — At Somerset-Losee, the Dragons defeated the Lions, 28-30, 26-24, 25-21, 25-14.

Hunter Hanshew had five kills and two digs for Somerset-Losee.
