ROUNDUP: Ballaro comes through as Vikings outlast Longhorns
Matt Ballaro had 12 kills and seven digs Friday to help Valley’s boys volleyball team rally for a 25-13, 21-25, 20-25, 25-21, 15-9 win at Legacy.
Peter Nunes dished out 38 assists, and Ignacio Diaz supplied 13 kills for Valley.
Erik Valerio had 16 assists, Justin Paquin had 10 kills, and Keith Noorda added eight digs for Legacy.
Las Vegas 3, Shadow Ridge 0 — At Las Vegas High, Luke Hansen had 27 assists, 10 digs and eight kills as the Wildcats swept the Mustangs, 25-23, 25-23, 25-23.
Jimichael Baker added 11 kills, and Garrett Jones supplied nine kills and 15 digs for Las Vegas.
Jalen Makaiwi had 20 assists, Brandon Fisher had 10 kills, and Cody Tesoro contributed 26 digs for Shadow Ridge.
Green Valley 3, Sierra Vista 0 — At Green Valley, Beau Gronert had 12 kills and six blocks to lead the Gators past the Mountain Lions, 25-20, 25-21, 25-23.
Nick Hevrin distributed 28 assists for Green Valley, and teammate Dimitri Santos added six kills.
Paolo Lee led Sierra Vista with 22 kills.
Del Sol 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Del Sol, Eric Beil had six kills and five aces to lead the Dragons to a 25-14, 25-20, 25-6 victory over the Jaguars.
Kevin Fitzpatrick helped Del Sol with six kills and four aces, and teammate Nick Maglaras added 18 assists.
Tony Savea led Desert Pines with eight assists and three blocks.
Spring Valley 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Spring Valley, Parker Slade had eight aces, and Blake Ringer had six kills as the Grizzlies swept the Pioneers, 25-17, 25-15, 25-22.
