ROUNDUP: Alston pushes Trailblazers to hold off Grizzlies

Dex Alston dished out 32 assists, and Pedro Abrego added 23 digs Thursday to help Durango’s boys volleyball team to a 25-12, 22-25, 25-15, 13-25, 15-11 win at Spring Valley.

Rontraye Rainey posted 12 blocks for the Trailblazers.

Jim Tran paced the Grizzlies with 26 assists and three digs. Donald Keith added eight kills and five digs, and Brandon Shi had 11 digs for Spring Valley.

Chaparral 3, Eldorado 2 — At Eldorado, Saiquan Charingto posted 21 kills and two blocks as the Cowboys outlasted the Sundevils, 22-25, 26-24, 20-25, 25-23, 15-11.

Pierce Morgan had 32 assists for Chaparral, which got four kills, three blocks and nine aces from Neldrick Nava.

Jacob Hollingsworth had 11 kills and six blocks for Eldorado. Joey Barnhurst had 20 assists, and Derek Kounovsky supplied five kills and five blocks for the Sundevils.

Western 3, Clark 2 — At Western, Vadell Wilson had 15 kills and seven blocks to help the Warriors rally to stun the Chargers, 22-25, 23-25, 25-23, 25-21, 15-13.

Reese Tillmond supplied 12 kills and two aces for Western, which matched its Southwest League win total from a year ago.

U.L. Jamerson dished out 26 assists for the Warriors.

Silverado 3, Green Valley 1 — At Green Valley, Kyle Divicino recorded 12 kills, and Curtis Hadland posted seven kills and 10 digs as the Skyhawks defeated the Gators, 19-25, 25-22, 27-25, 25-15.

Hunter Witt added five kills and five blocks for Silverado.

Donovan Santos led Green Valley with 32 assists and nine kills, and teammate James Byrne provided 10 kills and three blocks.

Las Vegas 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Evany Diaz had 37 assists and four aces as the Wildcats swept the Pioneers, 25-22, 25-18, 25-22.

Darius Childress had 10 kills and two blocks for Las Vegas, and teammate Mason Steed supplied eight kills and six digs.

Jon Jason Duhaylungsod had 21 assists and seven digs for Canyon Springs, which got 12 kills from Adam Tuala and four blocks from James Harris.

Bishop Gorman 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Bishop Gorman, Amadous Fowa had nine kills, and Bryan Flumara added six kills and five blocks to lead the Gaels to a 25-18, 25-22, 25-20 sweep of the Diamondbacks.

Stephen Zimmerman supplied six kills for Gorman.

Centennial 3, Arbor View 0 — At Arbor View, Austin Watts posted nine kills and seven aces, and teammate Tanner Bonds added 11 kills as the Bulldogs downed the Aggies, 25-17, 25-13, 25-12.

Dustin Buell supplied nine kills, and Conner Morris added eight digs for Centennial.

Garrett Rader led Arbor View with 15 digs, and teammate Dylan Mengert had four kills and two blocks.

Bonanza 3, Sierra Vista 0 — At Sierra Vista, Mitchell Barnes recorded 14 assists, and Brycen Duckworth had five kills as the Bengals downed the Mountain Lions, 25-23, 25-23, 25-19.

Paolo Lee had 16 assists, and Tyler Hollingsworth had six kills and two blocks for Sierra Vista.

Valley 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Peter Nunes had 25 assists and three kills to help the Vikings to a 25-17, 25-16, 25-15 sweep of the Miners.

Lorenzo Capanollo added 11 kills and three aces, and Jack Heavey had seven kills, two aces and two blocks for Valley.

Foothill 3, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Nick Stoker recorded 35 assists, and Kendell Williams added 12 kills as the Falcons topped the Dragons, 25-17, 25-13, 25-12.

Chansten Chow supplied 10 kills for Foothill.

Jesse Brown had 10 digs, and Nathan Kirschbaum spiked six kills for Del Sol.
