ROUNDUP: Alston helps Trailblazers overcome Warriors

Dex Alston had 31 assists and three aces Wednesday to lead Durango’s boys volleyball team to a 23-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-20 home win over Western.

Paris Estrada added nine kills and seven blocks, and Rontraye Rainey had eight blocks for the Trailblazers.

U.L. Jamerson distributed 14 assists, and Wesley Hunt added 12 digs for the Warriors, who got five blocks and three kills from Braeden Smith.

Bonanza 3, Bishop Gorman 0 — At Bonanza, Mitchell Barnes dished out 23 assists, and Brycen Duckworth had nine kills as the Bengals turned back the Gaels, 25-22, 25-17, 25-14.

Kavanaugh Buck added six kills and four blocks for Bonanza.

Jason Han had eight digs, and Chris Shea tallied six kills for Gorman, which got five blocks from Brian Fulmara.

Spring Valley 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Spring Valley, DeShaun Nowlin had 21 kills, 22 digs and two blocks to lead the Grizzlies to a 25-20, 25-15, 25-22 victory over the Diamondbacks.

Jim Tran notched 32 assists and nine digs, and Donald Keith added nine kills for Spring Valley, which got 15 digs from Wayne Luk.

Alex Trillo led Desert Oasis with 13 kills and six digs. Tanner Dupree added 12 kills, and teammate Austen Becker had 28 assists and 14 digs for the Diamondbacks.

Las Vegas 3, Valley 0 — At Las Vegas High, Garrett Jones had 23 digs, 15 kills and two blocks, and Evany Diaz supplied 33 assists to help the Wildcats sweep the Vikings, 25-18, 25-19, 25-17.

Jace Turner had nine kills, and Levi Mackelprang added eight kills for Las Vegas.

Peter Nunes led Valley with 20 assists, four digs and two kills, and teammate Matt Ballaro supplied nine kills and nine digs.

Rancho 3, Eldorado 0 — At Rancho, Guillermo Silva recorded eight kills and four aces to help the Rams to a 25-11, 25-12, 25-12 sweep of the Sundevils.

Jarik Wasson and Kendall Reynolds each had 11 assists for Rancho, which got 11 digs from Nathan Campo.

Jacob Hollingsworth had eight blocks and six kills for Eldorado. Cody Ence added 16 digs, and David Tran had six kills for the Sundevils.

Desert Pines 3, Chaparral 0 — At Desert Pines, Trevor Krystek had 18 assists and seven aces to lead the Jaguars by the Cowboys, 25-13, 25-23, 25-23.

Julian Jacobs supplied 11 kills and 16 digs, and Thomas Hooper added nine kills for Desert Pines.

Saiquan Charingto led Chaparral with 12 kills.

Sierra Vista 3, Clark 0 — At Sierra Vista, Clyde Balagtas had seven kills and four digs as the Mountain Lions swept the Chargers, 25-19, 25-17, 25-16.

Billy Rom added eight kills, and Josh Sison supplied 16 digs and two aces for Sierra Vista.

Canyon Springs 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Jon Jason Duhaylungsod distributed 40 assists, and Bernadino Faulato had 21 blocks in the Pioneers’ 25-15, 25-22, 25-8 sweep of the Miners.

Mike Valerio contributed 19 digs and three aces, and James Harris added 12 kills for Canyon Springs.
