Shadow Ridge defeated Green Valley in four sets to win the Class 5A boys state volleyball championship. Desert Oasis (4A) and Boulder City (3A) also won titles.
Shadow Ridge and Green Valley have played twice this season, with the Mustangs winning both matches. They will play for the Class 5A boys volleyball title Wednesday.

Scott Solan, a 6-foot-7-inch opposite hitter, had 20 kills on Friday night, and helped Palo Verde to a 17-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-16, 15-13 victory over host Arbor View.
Ceci put the finishing touches on a 21-25, 25-16, 25-23, 22-25, 15-11 victory over the Falcons with a thunderous kill in the fifth and final set, clinching Coronado’s first region championship since 2013.
Stearman’s sixth kill of the fifth set allowed the Falcons to complete a 20-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-23, 15-11 comeback and advance to both Friday’s region final and next week’s state tournament.
