Local club team finishes third at national tourney
Vegas Xtreme Volleyball placed third this week at the prestigious Boys Junior National Championships in Columbus, Ohio.
The tournament, hosted by USA Volleyball, included 69 teams in the 18s club division.
Arbor View’s Treven Clizbe and Las Vegas High’s Shaun Kampshoff made the all-tournament team after helping the squad post a 10-1 record. The team won 21 of 28 sets.
Centennial’s Farries Gardner and Kade Frischknecht, Arbor View’s Anders Nordstrom and Steven Rasmussen, Shadow Ridge’s James Yapching, Las Vegas’ Kyle Monton and Brandon Kampshoff, Bishop Gorman’s Charles Pollnow and Palo Verde’s Kainoa Villa were the other players on the team, which was coached by Durango’s Nicole Adarme.
