Del Sol wins six matches to claim Warrior Invitational title
Del Sol won all six of its matches Saturday en route to capturing the championship at the Warrior Invitational boys volleyball tournament at Western.
The Dragons swept pool-play matches against Sunrise Mountain, Eldorado and Western, then beat Chaparral and Canyon Springs in bracket play.
In the final match, Del Sol defeated Desert Oasis to clinch the title.
Western beat Canyon Springs in the third-place match.
Del Sol’s Aaron Rife was named the tournament’s MVP.
The Dragons’ Eric Beil and Nick Maglaras were named to the all-tournament team. Other all-tournament selections were Desert Oasis’ Alex Trillo and Zach Bobenhausen, Western’s Aaron Buckley and Canyon Springs’ Chris Bangaran.
