Michael Jones had 20 digs, five kills and four aces to power defending Class 3A state champ Mojave to a 25-6, 25-7, 25-15 sweep over Desert Pines in the Class 3A state quarterfinals on Thursday.
Tredall Blanchard-Davis had eight kills, nine digs and two aces, and Nathaniel Arredondo had 33 assists, six digs and two aces for the Rattlers.
Sebastian James added seven kills for Mojave (22-8), which plays Del Sol (18-17) in the semifinals at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at Cheyenne.
Desert Pines finished 2-15.
Del Sol 3, Chaparral 0 — At Mojave, David Anderson supplied 23 digs and six kills in the Dragons’ 25-23, 25-22, 25-23 win over the Cowboys.
Alejandro Marin put down 13 kills, Alan Ramos-Flores had 13 assists and six digs, and Angel Vargas added 11 assists and six digs for Del Sol.
Chaparral finished 11-15.
Cheyenne 3, Tech 0 — At Sky Pointe, Denzell Brown and Anthony Walker each supplied 10 kills to power the Desert Shields to a 25-17, 25-20, 25-18 sweep of the Roadrunners.
Ryan Buchanan had nine kills and four aces, and Ethan Cruz added seven digs and four aces for Cheyenne (16-18), whidh faces Sky Pointe (21-8) in the semifinals at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Cheyenne.
Andrew Luong had 12 digs, and Ossian Makin tallied 11 assists and five digs to pace Tech (9-26).
Sky Pointe 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sky Pointe, the Eagles swept the Miners, 25-14, 25-13, 25-9.
Sunrise Mountain finished 7-18.
