Boys roundup: Trio helps Coronado to narrow win over Silverado

Dillon Stewart, Andrew Burdalski and Tom Dougherty each won one individual event and ran on a winning relay team Tuesday to help Coronado’s boys track team pull out a 71-70 win at Silverado.

Stewart won the 100-meter dash in 11.18 seconds and joined Burdalski on the winning 400 relay team. Burdalski won the 400 in 53.01 and finished second in the triple jump.

Dougherty finished first in the 800 in 2:02.89 and was a part of the winning 1,600 relay team.

Silverado’s Devin Bossie won three field events. Bossie took the triple jump with a mark of 44 feet, 5¼ inches and added wins in the long jump (19-2) and high jump (5-8).

The Skyhawks’ David Parker won the discus (129-10) and tied for first in the shot put (44-1½).

Shadow Ridge wins four-team meet

At Shadow Ridge, Tyler Robison won two individual events and finished second in another to help the Mustangs to victory in a four-team meet.

Shadow Ridge finished with 115 points. Spring Mountain was second with 58, followed by Cimarron-Memorial with 53 and Somerset-Losee with 34.

Robison won the 110 hurdles in 16.66 and the pole vault (11-6) and took second in the 300 hurdles.

Spring Mountain’s Tyrese Traylor won the 300 hurdles (42.99) and was second in the 110 hurdles, and teammate Akili Porter won the shot put (39-8) and took second in the discus.

Cimarron’s Malik Green won the 200 in 23.1, and teammate Tyler Schoenwald won the 800 in 2:01.45. Both ran on the Spartans’ winning 1,600 relay team.

Somerset-Losee’s Kavoni Jackson won the long jump (20-0), was second in the 400 and ran on the winning 800 relay team.

Legacy claims four-teamer

At Durango, Jayden Love posted 10.6 in the 100-meter dash to help the Longhorns take care of business in a four-team meet.

Durango finished with 65 points, Calvary Chapel had 36 and Indian Springs had nine.

Romelow Turner won the 1,600-meter run in 4:53.7 for Legacy, and took second in the 800-meter run in 2:11.8. Longhorns hurdler Aubrey Washington won the 110 hurdles in 15.1 seconds.

Justin Johnson of Durango won the 200-meter dash in 22.2 seconds, and J.J. Robinson of Calvary Chapel claimed the 400 meters in 52.8 seconds.

Mojave wins at Chaparral

At Chaparral, DeQuincy Mitchell won the 100-meter dash in 11.3 and the 200 dash in 23.4 to help the Rattlers win a three-team meet.

Mitchell also ran on the 400 relay as Mojave swept the relays.

The Rattlers finished with 156 points, ahead of Moapa Valley (84½) and Chaparral (29½).

Joshua Lee cleared 14 feet, 3 inches in the pole vault to run away with the win. The next-best height was his teammate, Dillon Clove at 9-6.
