TENNIS: Zach Smith, Donovan Evangelio lead Faith Lutheran boys over Desert Pines

Zach Smith and Donovan Evangelio went 2-0 in doubles Saturday to lead Faith Lutheran’s boys tennis team to a 12-6 victory over Desert Pines at Darling Tennis Center.

Michael Markantonis was 2-1 in singles for the Crusaders.

Jose Ruiz went 2-1 in singles for the Jaguars. Adan Cano and Kevin Giron went 2-1 in doubles for Desert Pines.

Faith Lutheran 15, Durango 3 — At Darling Tennis Center, Max Blum, Sam Hertig and Kyle Avery each went 2-0 in singles to lead the Crusaders over the Trailblazers.

Jack Marshall and Julian Lin teamed to go 2-0 in doubles for Faith Lutheran.

Durango’s Gabriel Villanueva and Benjamin Platerio went 2-1 in doubles.

Rancho 12, Legacy 6 — At Rancho, the doubles teams of Anjana Dissanayaka and Andrew Alves, and Matthew Alighchi and Ethan Schwartz each went 2-0 to lead the Rams over the Longhorns.

Ojas Sali was 2-1 in singles for Rancho.

Willie Valdez-Grijalva went 3-0 in singles to lead Legacy. Erik Barranca was 2-1 in singles for the Longhorns.

Durango 10, Desert Pines 8 — At Darling Tennis Center, the Trailblazers edged the Jaguars.


Legacy 11, Rancho 7 — At Rancho, the Longhorns defeated the Rams.

Maiyah Norton went 3-0 in singles for Rancho.

Faith Lutheran 15, Desert Pines 3 — At Darling Tennis Center, Reillie Smith and Ireland Otto won their lone doubles set as the Crusaders rolled past the Jaguars.

Marie Langer and Chloe Pollack each went 1-0 in singles for Faith Lutheran.

Faith Lutheran 12, Durango 0 — At Darling Tennis Center, the Crusaders beat the Trailblazers by forfeit.

Desert Pines 12, Durango 0 — At Darling Tennis Center, the Jaguars defeated the Trailblazers by forfeit.
