ROUNDUP: Doubles team helps Faith Lutheran boys edge Durango

Hunter Wana and Mario Stadtlander went 3-0 in doubles then won their tiebreaker game 7-0 Saturday to lift Faith Lutheran’s boys tennis team to a 10-9 win over Durango at Darling Tennis Center.

Trey Sommers rallied from a 2-5 deficit in his lone set to win and force the extra round. The teams each won three of the six tiebreaker games, but the Crusaders won the match on tiebreaker points, 37-34.

Jack Stevens went 3-0 in singles for Faith Lutheran.

John Nhan was 2-1 in singles for the Trailblazers, who also got 2-1 efforts from the doubles teams of Kent Rockwell and Niko Zelenovic, and Mitchell Pate and Dylan Manivong.

Desert Oasis 10, Durango 9 — At Darling Tennis Center, Trystan Draws and Ryan Kronk each went 3-0 in singles and easily won tiebreaker games to push the Diamondbacks past the Trailblazers.

The teams each won nine sets and split the six tiebreaker games, but the Diamondbacks outscored the Trailblazers, 40-35 in the tiebreakers.

Bryce Thacker went 2-1 in singles for Desert Oasis.

Rockwell and Zelenovic, and the team of Christian Pasqual and Anthony Schaff each went 3-0 in doubles for Durango.

Desert Oasis 10, Faith Lutheran 8 — At Darling Tennis Center, Kronk was 3-0 in singles, including fighting back from a 2-5 deficit in one set, to help the Diamondbacks edge the Crusaders.

Thacker was 3-0 in singles for Desert Oasis.

Wana and Brandon Becker went 3-0 in doubles, and Marc Beccue and Kylar Sommers were 3-0 in doubles for Faith Lutheran.

GIRLS

Faith Lutheran 16, Desert Oasis 2 — At Darling Tennis Center, Krystal Petersen went 3-0 in singles as the Crusaders topped the Diamondbacks.

Kathleen Wright and Vanessa Lee each went 2-0 in singles for Faith Lutheran.

Faith Lutheran 17, Durango 1 — At Darling Tennis Center, Wright was 3-0 in singles as the Crusaders rolled past the Trailblazers.

Lee was 2-0 in singles for Faith Lutheran.

Desert Oasis 16, Durango 2 — At Darling Tennis Center, Keanne Prollamante went 3-0 in singles to help the Diamondbacks down the Trailblazers.

The doubles teams of Ashlen Dale and Courtney Dale , and Phenix Johnson and LeAnne Perez each went 3-0, and the team of Charlene Velasquez and Sabrina Otero was 2-0 for Desert Oasis.

Sabrine Freeman went 2-1 in singles for Durango.
