BOYS TENNIS: Grizzlies coast to win over Aggies

Dominic Morimando was 3-0 in singles Wednesday to help Spring Valley’s boys tennis team to a 14-4 win at Arbor View.

The doubles teams of Davis Tran and Kenny Tran, Jeremy Doyharzabal and Christian Zimmerman, and Eric Clark and Alex Tasaka all went 3-0 for the Grizzlies.

Eldorado 10, Liberty 9 — At Liberty, the Sundevils won a tiebreaker over the Patriots.

The teams split their 18 regulation sets, and each won three of the six tiebreaker games, but Eldorado outscored Liberty 30-25 in the six games.

Dylan Ihmels went 3-0 in singles for Liberty.

Faith Lutheran 14, Bonanza 3 — At Bonanza, Jack Stevens, Mario Stadtlander and Joey Ritorto all went 3-0 in singles to help the Crusaders down the Bengals.

Jacob Mabey and Andy Stephenson went 3-0 in doubles for Bonanza.

Las Vegas 16, Silverado 2 — At Silverado, Kevin Fedde and Jeremiah Garcia both went 3-0 in singles to help the Wildcats defeat the Skyhawks.

The doubles teams of Shayne Marquez and Evan Kindard, and Trey Chauncey and Kyle Monton each went 3-0 for Las Vegas. Teammates Paul Swenson and Shean Brunner were 2-0 in doubles.

Coronado 16, Basic 2 — At Basic, Cassell King went 3-0 in singles as the Cougars routed the Wolves.

Aaron Egbert and Michael Boyd were 3-0 in doubles for Coronado.

Palo Verde 12, Durango 0 — At Durango, Zack Surmacz went 2-0 in singles as the Panthers topped the Trailblazers in a match stopped after two rounds due to rain.

Foothill 11, Del Sol 4 — At Foothill, Tyler Van Stone, Tristin Hansel, and Theodore Dradicki each went 3-0 in singles to help the Falcons defeat the Dragons in a match stopped in the third round due to rain.

Mike DeLeon and Nick Trujillo combined to go 3-0 in doubles for Del Sol.

Rancho 12, Canyon Springs 0 — At Rancho, the Rams won by forfeit.

Weather issues

Sierra Vista held a 9-6 lead over visiting Shadow Ridge when their match was suspended due to rain. A completion date has not been announced.

Green Valley’s match at Valley was suspended due to rain. A completion date has not been announced.

Clark’s match at Centennial was halted in the second round with the teams tied 4-4. It likely will not be resumed.
