ROUNDUP: Hewett, Matha help Rancho girls down Wildcats

Shania Hewett and Patricia Matha each won two events on Saturday to lead Rancho’s girls swim team to a 156-108 win over Las Vegas at Multi-Generational.

Hewitt won the 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes, 56.53 seconds and the 100 breaststroke in 1:22.72.

Matha was first in the 200 freestyle (2:41.39) and 500 freestyle (7:10.75).

Eldorado 120, Desert Pines 65 — At Multi-Generational, McKell Ficklin won the 500 freestyle (7:49.1) and 100 breaststroke (1:38.04) to lead the Sundevils past the Jaguars.

Sunrise Mountain 118, Del Sol 89 — At Multi-Generational, Michelle Dimas won the 200 freestyle (3:29.44) and 500 freestyle (9:31.4) to lift the Miners past the Dragons.

Del Sol’s Ruth Workman was first in the 200 individual medley (3:07.11) and 100 freestyle (1:13.34).

Centennial 151, Cimarron-Memorial 147 — At Pavilion, the Bulldogs won four individual events and a relay to edge the Spartans.

Cimarron’s Amanda Guerrero won the 200 individual medley (2:19.65) and 100 breaststroke (1:08.43).

Bishop Gorman 161, Palo Verde 132 — At Municipal, Meghan Boland, Katie Miller and Olivia Barker each won two events to help the Gaels top the Panthers.

Boland was first in the 50 freestyle (26.0) and 100 breaststroke (1:09.55), Miller won the 100 butterfly (1:02.42) and 500 freestyle (5:17.34), and Barker took the 200 freestyle (1:57.51) and 100 freestyle (54.17).

Boulder City 205, Bonanza 94 — At Heritage, the Eagles won each of the swimming events to top the Bengals.

Racheael Grothe, Megan Purdy and Natalie Grothe each won two events for Boulder City.

Rachael Grothe was first in the 200 freestyle (2:03.9) and 100 freestyle (55.22), Purdy won the 200 individual medley (2:12.73) and 100 butterfly (58.89), and Natalie Grothe took the 50 freestyle (25.49) and 100 breaststroke (1:09.21).

Tech 138, Liberty 87 — At Heritage, Gabrielle Spendlove won the 200 freestyle (2:41.35) and 100 butterfly (1:37.53) to help the Roadrunners defeat the Patriots.

Tech also swept the relays.

Silverado 176, Basic 115 — At Heritage, Mallory Harris won the 200 individual medley (2:16.69)  and 200 freestyle (2:01.6) to lift the Skyhwks past the Wolves.

Basic’s Melanie Harris was first in the 100 butterfly (1:02.78) and 500 freestyle (5:27.91).

Desert Oasis 169, Sierra Vista 103 — At Pavilion, the Diamondbacks took five events on their way to the victory.

Sierra Vista’s Anamey Nava was first in the 200 freestyle in 2:04.1 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:15.56, and teammate Nicole Phillips won the 200 individual medley in 2:28.55 and the 100 freestyle in 1:01.18.

Valley 186, Moapa Valley 55 — At Pavilion, three Valley swimmers won two events apiece as the Vikings cruised past the Pirates.

Julie Dotson won the 200 individual medley in 2:39.2 and the 100 butterfly in 1:06.6. Carly Riehemann took the 500 freestyle in 7:35.46 and the 100 backstroke in 1:29.28.

Teammate Nicole Rouhani won the 100 freestyle in 1:09.99 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:32.94.

Coronado 161, Durango 113 — At Pavilion, Samantha Harrison won the 200 freestyle in 1:58.73 and the 500 freestyle in 5:07.65 to lead the Cougars past the Trailblazers.

Green Valley 219, Foothill 75 — Eleanor Marrs won the 100 butterfly (1:06.59) and 50 freestyle (26.58) to lead the Gators past the Falcons.
