Girls roundup: Trio leads Desert Oasis past Arbor View

Charlotte Randolph, Alexie Johnston and Ayanah Cason each won two individual events on Saturday to lead the Desert Oasis girls swimming team to a 150-135 win over Arbor View at Pavilion.

Randolph won the 50-yard freestyle in 27.05 seconds and touched first in the 500 freestyle in 5:32.21. Johnston won the 100 butterfly in 1:03.32 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:17.71. Cason took the 100 freestyle in 57.25 and the 100 backstroke in 1:06.47.

Sierra Vista 209, Cheyenne 47 — At Pavilion, Alyssa Walter and Tori Valdes each won two events to lead the Mountain Lions over the Desert Shields.

Walter was first in the 200 freestyle (2:38.78) and diving (164.95 points), and Valdes took the 100 freestyle (1:18.46) and 100 breaststroke (1:39.65).

Kayla Wolsey won the 200 individual medley (2:24.82) and was second in the 100 butterfly for the Mountain Lions, and teammate Enzi Han won the 500 freestyle (5:41.08) and was second in the 200 individual medley.

Clark 195, Western 81 — At Pavilion, Eden Bulleman and Madeline Young each won two individual events as the Charges beat the Warriors.

Eden Bulleman was first in the 200 individual medley (2:41.81) and 100 breaststroke (1:17.44).

Young placed first in the 100 butterfly (1:07.47) and 100 backstroke (1:06.25).

Faith Lutheran 170½, Spring Valley 107½ — At Pavilion, Adelaide Rau won the 500 freesytle in 6:15.47 and took the 100 breaststroke in 1:17.81 to lead the Crusaders over the Grizzlies.

Faith Lutheran’s Ashley Uelmen was first in the 200 individual medley (2:40.08) and second in the 500 freestyle. Sophia Rubino won the 50 freestyle (28.09) and was second in the 100 butterfly, and teammate Nyah Chio won the 100 freestyle (1:11.26) and tied for second in the 100 breaststroke.

Spring Valley’s Allie Jacobson touched first in the 200 freestyle (2:13.37) and 100 backstroke (1:05.37).

Bishop Gorman 148, Shadow Ridge 146 — At Pavilion,Emma Breslin, Hayley Linderer and Devyn Wingender each won two individual events to lead the Gaels to a narrow win over the Mustangs.

Breslin won the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.62 and the 50 freestyle in 25.95. Linderer took the 100 freestyle in 1:00.56 and the 200 freestyle in 2:11.03. Wingender won the 200 individual medley in 2:16.18 and the 100 backstroke in 1:03.29.

Charlotte Brereton won the 500 freestyle in 5:20.88 and was second in the 50 freestyle for Shadow Ridge.

Centennial 172, Legacy 94 — At Pavilion, Chloe Day and Leeza Matrix each won one individual event and placed second in another to help the Bulldogs to a victory over the Longhorns.

Day won the 100 backstroke in 1:10.75 and was second in the 200 freestyle. Matrix won the 100 breaststroke in 1:22.09 and was second in the 100 butterfly.

Legacy’s Isabella Schutte won the 100 butterfly (1:05.48) and the 200 individual medley (2:19.03), and teammate Alyssa Hawkins placed first in both the 200 freestyle (2:04.08) and the 100 freestyle (0:57.29).

Palo Verde 203, Durango 73 — At Pavilion, six individuals each won one event as the Panthers downed the Trailblazers.

Mia Mauriello was the only Palo Verde swimmer to have a top-three finish in two events as the Panthers used their depth well. Mauriello was second in the 50 freestyle and third in the 100 backstroke.

Durango’s Jan Stephanie De Leon was first in the 200 freestyle in 2:26.57 and third in the 100 freestyle.

Boulder City 213, Tech 71 — At Municipal, Annika Freiburger, Quinci Thomas, Rose Pouch and Ashleigh Wood each won two of the eight individual swimming events to help the Eagles triple-up the Roadrunners.

Freiburger won the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.51 and the 500 freestyle in 5:30.46. Thomas took the 100 backstroke in 1:04.25 and the 200 individual medley in 2:20.26. Pouch placed first in the 100 butterfly in 58.81 and the 200 freestyle in 1:58.87. Wood was first in the 50 freestyle in 28.37 and the 100 freestyle in 1:04.68.

Coronado 250, Silverado 42 — At Municipal, the Cougars shared the wealth with nine athletes each winning one of the nine individual events, including diving, in a rout of the Skyhawks.

Coronado’s Sophia Garritano won the 200 individual medley (2:29.83) and was second in the 100 freestyle, and teammate Kenzy West won the 500 freestyle (6:40.08) and took third in the 100 breaststroke.

Del Sol 120, Moapa Valley 93 — At Municipal, Brynn Sproul won two individual events to lead the Dragons past the Pirates.

Sproul took the 200 individual medley in 2:15.05 and the 100 butterfly in 1:03.63. Teammate Paloma Torres was first in the 50 freestyle in 35.29 and third in the 100 breaststroke.

Virgin Valley 159, White Pine 24 — At Municipal, Taylor Waite and Kallie Graves each won two events as the Bulldogs topped the Bobcats.

Waite won the 100 breaststroke in 1:27.27 and the 100 freestyle in 1:06.71. Graves took the 200 individual medley in 2:52.6 and the 100 backstroke in 1:19.21.

White Pine’s Emma Sorensen was first in the 200 freestyle (2:40.86) and second in the 200 individual medley.

Sunrise Mountain 142, Desert Pines 28 — At Municipal, Melody Stevens, Macy Stevens and Yareli Oliva-Navarette each won two individual events to help the Miners down the Jaguars.

Melody Stevens won the 200 freestyle in 3:25.55 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:40.62. Macy Stevens won the 200 individual medley in 3:15.07 and the 100 butterfly in 1:38.09. Oliva-Navarette was first in the 50 freestyle in 38.88 and the 100 backstroke in 1:44.30.

Foothill 202, Las Vegas 77 — At Multi-Generational, Lily Jesperson won the 500 freestyle in 5:50.19 and the 200 individual medley in 2:28.69 to lead the Falcons by the Wildcats.

Myna Buckley, Ryann Stricker and Cozette Terry each won one event and finished second in another for Foothill.

Buckley won the 100 freestyle in 1:03.1 and was second in the 200 freestyle. Stricker won the 50 freestyle in 28.79 and was second in the 500 freestyle. Terry took the 100 backstroke in 1:20.59 and was second in the 100 freestyle.

Rancho 156, Eldorado 78 — At Multi-Generational, Natalia Escalante and Tatumn Alford each won two events to help the Rams down the Sundevils.

Escalante took the 100 butterfly in 1:06.31 and the 500 freestyle in 5:32.65. Alford was first in the 200 freestyle in 2:27.85 and the 200 individual medley in 2:40.61.

Eldorado’s Katherine Davila won the 100 freestyle in 1:08.72 and was second in the 200 freestyle.

Liberty 218, Canyon Springs 46 — At Multi-Generational, Brooke Skelly and Brooke Blackard each won two individual events as the Patriots topped the Pioneers.

Skelly won the 100 breaststroke in 1:22.75 and the 200 freestyle in 2:20.5. Blackard touched first in the 200 individual medley in 2:27.13 and the 100 butterfly in 1:06.77.

Liberty’s Noelle Steffensen, Sarah Cunningham and Jada Whited each won one event and had a second-place finish.

Steffensen won the 100 freestyle in 1:07.73 and was second in the 200 freestyle. Cunningham claimed the 500 freestyle in 6:00.16 and was second in the 200 individual medley. Whited won the 100 backstroke in 1:14.69 and was second in the 500 freestyle.

Green Valley sweeps

At Multi-Generational, Liz Clinch won the 100 butterfly in 1:00.37 and the 200 freestyle in 2:03.03 to lead Green Valley to wins over Basic and Chaparral.

The Gators were 183-124 winners over Basic and 244-27 winners over the Cowboys. Basic beat Chaparral, 211-37.

Green Valley’s Raissa Gavino won the 100 backstroke (1:06.56) and was second in the 100 freestyle, and teammate Valerie Kitchens won the 500 freestyle (5:24.07) and was second in the 100 butterfly.

Basic’s Michaela Day won the 200 individual medley in 2:20.43 and took second in the 500 freestyle.
