Girls roundup: Allison Wiegand leads Silverado past Canyon Springs

Allison Wiegand won two individual events on Saturday to lead Silverado’s girls swimming team to a 116-85 victory over Canyon Springs at Multi-Generational.

Wiegand was first in the 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes, 52.08 seconds and placed first in the 100 butterfly in 1:27.15.

Jillian Rigodon won the 50 freestyle in 30.28 and placed second in the 100 freestyle for the Skyhawks. Holly Slater won the 200 freestyle in 2:56.71 and was third in the 200 individual medley for Silverado.

Kyleigh Ancheta won the 100 freestyle (1:10.75) and 100 breaststroke (1:32.27) for Canyon Springs.

Palo Verde 219, Faith Lutheran 79 — At Pavilion, Madelaine Lauger was first in the 100 butterfly (1:00.34) and second in the 500 freestyle as the Panthers dominated the Crusaders.

Lillina Franklin won the 100 backstroke (1:06.75) and was third in the 200 individual medley for Palo Verde, which won all but one event.

Faith Lutheran’s Sophia Rubino won the 100 breaststroke (1:19.17).

Shadow Ridge 187, Spring Valley 92 — At Pavilion, Kayla Chavez and Charlotte Brereton each won two individual events to lead the Mustangs over the Grizzlies.

Chavez won the 200 freestyle in 2:17.82 and the 200 individual medley in 2:35.07. Brereton took the 100 butterfly in 1:03.5 and the 500 freestyle in 5:29.75.

Spring Valley’s Allie Jacobson was first in the 50 freestyle (25.5) and 100 backstroke (1:01.4).

Arbor View 187, Legacy 87 — At Pavilion, Maria Cheng won the 200 individual medley in 2:28.91 and 100 breaststroke in 1:14.9 to lead the Aggies over the Longhorns.

Legacy’s Alyssa Hawkins was first in the 200 freestyle (2:05.81) and 50 freestyle (26.91).

Bishop Gorman 213, Bonanza 36 — At Pavilion, Hayley Linderer, Jhacelyn Arroyo and Sarah Barber each won two individual events as the Gaels cruised past the Bengals.

Linderer placed first in the 200 freestyle (2:12.03) and 500 freestyle (5:55.18), Arroyo won the 50 freestyle (28.19) and 100 backstroke (1:17.35) and Barber took the 100 butterfly (1:20.77) and 100 breaststroke (1:22.41).

Tech 155, Chaparral 82 — At Multi-Generational, Karis Fernandez won the 200 freestyle in 2:47.78 and the 50 freestyle in 32.5 to lead the Roadrunners over the Cowboys.

Chaparral’s Yesenia Ovalle-Munoz won the 100 backstroke (1:27.17) and was second in the 50 freestyle. Lana Simmonds won the 100 freestyle (1:11.38) and was second in diving for the Cowboys.

Boulder City 189, Basic 101 — At Multi-Generational, Annika Freiburger, Rose Pouch and Aimee Garcia each won a pair of individual events as the Eagles beat the Wolves.

Freiburger won the 200 individual medley (2:17.32) and 100 butterfly (1:03.51), Pouch was first in the 50 freestyle (25.2) and 500 freestyle (5:15.78), and Garcia took the 100 freestyle (56.52) and 100 breaststroke (1:10.38).

Basic’s Samantha Curtis won diving with 131.45 points.

Foothill 236, Eldorado 38 — At Multi-Generational, Ryann Sticker and Faith Brazil each won two individual events as the Falcons earned an easy win over the Sundevils.

Sticker was first in the 200 freestyle (2:15.27) and 100 butterfly (1:10.98), and Brazil won the 50 freestyle (26.85) and 500 freestyle (5:27.45).

Coronado 195, Green Valley 114 — At Multi-Generational, Jade Hughes and Pilar Cohen each won a pair of events to lead the Cougars over the Gators.

Hughes took the 200 freestyle (2:01.81) and 500 freestyle (5:25.15), and Cohen was first in the 50 freestyle (24.62) and 100 freestyle (54.69)

Green Valley’s Raissa Gavino won the 200 individual medley (2:14.75) and 100 breaststroke (1:08.22), and teammate Elizabeth Clinch was first in the 100 butterfly (58.14) and 100 backstroke (59.44).

Centennial 213, Cimarron-Memorial 49 — At Desert Breeze, Grace Rojo, Kaly Rafie and Chloe Day each won two individual events as the Bulldogs rolled past the Spartans.

Rojo won the 200 freestyle (2:19.11) and 100 breaststroke (1:27.27), Rafie took the 200 individual medley (2:37.54) and 100 backstroke (1:10.02), and Day was first in the 50 freestyle (28.49) and 500 freestyle (6:15.94).

Sierra Vista 159, Desert Oasis 138 — At Desert Breeze, Taylor Saxon won the 100 butterfly (1:08.81) and 100 breaststroke (1:18.89) as the Mountain Lions defeated the Diamondbacks.

Desert Oasis’ Alexie Johnston touched first in the 200 freestyle (1:59.12) and 200 individual medley (2:23.45).

Western 126, Cheyenne 87 — At Desert Breeze, Africa Cortes won the 100 butterfly (1:50.72) and 100 backstroke (1:36.15) to power the Warriors to the win over the Desert Shields.

Rancho, Del Sol defeat Desert Pines — At Multi-Generational, Natalia Escalante and Astrid Villeda each won two events to lead Rancho to a 153½-67½ win over Desert Pines.

Escalante won the 200 freestyle (2:03.59) and 200 individual medley (2:23.75) and Villeda was first in the 50 freestyle (26.03) and 100 butterfly (1:00.88).

Del Sol’s Brynn Sproul won the 200 freestyle in 2:03.75 and 100 backstroke in 57.92 as the Dragons defeated Desert Pines, 148-56.

Liberty, Las Vegas top Valley — At Multi-Generational, Jessica Farnsworth won two events to lead Las Vegas High to a 192-70 victory over Valley.

Farnsworth was first in the 200 freestyle (2:02.27) and 50 freestyle (26.46).

Liberty also defeated the Vikings, 192-70.
