ROUNDUP: Bair buoys Basic boys past Valley

Bodie Bair won two events Friday at Whitney Ranch to lead Basic’s boys swimming team to a 153-114 victory over Valley.

Bair took the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes, 12.68 seconds and the 500 freestyle in 6:06.71.

Valley’s Mitchell Rockey won the 200 individual medley in 2:16.36 and the 100 backstroke in 1:03.5.

Eldorado 145, Liberty 96 — At Whitney Ranch, Diego Falcon took the 200 freestyle in 2:09.06 and the 500 freestyle in 6:06.73 as the Sundevils topped the Patriots

Tech wins twice — At Whitney Ranch, Ezra Morris and Larry Thomas each claimed two events as the Roadrunners posted a 181-33 win over Mojave and a 164-66 win over Chaparral.

Morris captured the 200 freestyle in 2:06.64 and the 200 individual medley in 2:31.99, and Thomas took the 50 freestyle (26.04) and 100 freestyle (57.29).

GIRLS

Eldorado 136, Liberty 101 — At Whitney Ranch, Lynette Molitor and McKell Ficklin each won two events to guide the Sundevils past the Patriots.

Molitor took the 100 butterfly in 1:18.2 and the 200 freestyle in 2:17.7, and Ficklin claimed the 100 freestyle in 1:13.34 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:36.28.

Liberty’s Katelyn Wolford won the 50 freestyle (30.18) and 500 freestyle (7:23.11).

Basic 166, Valley 116 — At Whitney Ranch, Melanie Harris, Chelsea Bengel and Katlyn Porter each took two events to help the Wolves cruise past the Vikings.

Harris won the 100 butterfly in 1:02.61 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.64; Bengel claimed the 50 freestyle (28.97) and 100 freestyle (1:04.93); and Porter captured the 200 freestyle (2:19.48) and 500 freestyle (6:22.2).

Tech wins twice — Rachel Ellis won two events as the Roadrunners routed Mojave, 207-26, and defeated Chaparral, 165½-100½.

Ellis took the 50 freestyle in 31.53 and the 100 freestyle in 1:13.62.

Chaparral’s Cydney Stephensen claimed the 100 breaststroke in 1:19.69 and the 200 freestyle in 2:14.1.
