BOYS SWIMMING: Pecjak, Tech edge Virgin Valley

Michael Pecjak won two individual events at Municipal on Saturday to help Tech’s boys swimming team to a 124-116 victory over Virgin Valley.

Pecjak took the 100-yard butterfly in 1 minute, 14.35 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 1:09.34.

Virgin Valley’s Isaac Draskovich won the 50 freestyle in 26.32 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.81.

Clark 159, Sierra Vista 115 — At Municipal, Andy Wang and Riley Molina each won two individual events as the Chargers topped the Mountain Lions.

Wang took the 200 individual medley (2:05.09) and the 500 freestyle (5:01.36), and Molina claimed the 200 freestyle (1:53.16) and the 100 butterfly (55.84).

Sierra Vista’s Haris Kurtagic won the 50 freestyle (24.97) and the 100 breaststroke (1:07.87).

Sunrise Mountain 147, Moapa Valley 82 — At Municipal, James Stanton, Thomas Menter and Bryan Rodriguez each won two events to lift the Miners by the Pirates.

Stanton took the 50 freestyle (25.82) and the 100 freestyle (1:01.83). Menter captured the 200 individual medley (2:28.86) and the 100 breaststroke (1:11.77). Rodriguez won the 100 butterfly (58.65) and the 500 freestyle (5:48.2).

Moapa Valley’s Nathan Witter took the 200 freestyle (2:16.38) and the 100 backstroke (1:20.7).

Coronado 181, Basic 105 — At Heritage, Juston Lee and Parker Evans each won two events to lead the Cougars by the Wolves.

Lee won the 200 freestyle (1:57.05) and 500 freestyle (5:36.38), and Evans took the 50 freestyle (22.58) and 100 freestyle (49.62).

Basic’s Liam Wetzel won the 100 butterfly (53.63) and the 100 breaststroke (1:02.54).

Faith Lutheran 211, Western 33 — At Pavilion, Bowen Becker, Ryan Little and James Lea each won two individual events as the Crusaders defeated the Warriors.

Becker breezed to wins in the 50 freestyle (21.5) and 100 freestyle (48.01). Little won the 200 freestyle (1:57.21) and the 100 butterfly (59.49), and Lea took the 200 individual medley (2:28.15) and the 500 freestyle (6:24.77).

Arbor View 206, Cimarron-Memorial 60 — At Pavilion, Tanner Franks and Jaren Longhurst each won two individual events as the Aggies downed the Spartans.

Franks took the 200 individual medley in 2:13.65 and the 500 freestyle in 5:36.9, and Longhurst won the 50 freestyle in 26.0 and the 100 butterfly in 1:05.83.

Centennial 199, Desert Oasis 24 — At Pavilion, Carter Grimes and Tyler Peterson each won two individual events as the Bulldogs topped the Diamondbacks.

Grimes captured the 200 individual medley (2:09.49) and the 100 backstroke (58.78), and Peterson claimed the 50 freestyle (27.09) and the 500 freestyle (6:30.15).

Desert Oasis’ Jonathan Liaos won the 100 freestyle (57.56) and the 200 freestyle (2:07.75).

Eldorado 137, Liberty 71 — At Heritage, Max Thomas, Tyler Harper and Troy Sirat each took two events to lead the Sundevils by the Patriots.

Thomas won the 200 individual medley (2:32.3) and the 500 freestyle (5:49.45), Harper won the 200 freestyle (2:17.77) and the 100 freestyle (59.3), while Sirat was victorious in the 100 butterfly (1:02.99) and the 100 backstroke (1:05.44).

Palo Verde 202, Shadow Ridge 94 — At Pavilion, Logan Houck won the 100 butterfly in 54.37 and the 100 backstroke in 58.18 to lead the Panthers by the Mustangs.

Valley 92, Silverado 72 — At Heritage, James Larson won the 200 individual medley in 2:10.58 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.87 to help the Vikings top the Skyhawks.

Silverado’s Adi Angel was first in the 50 freestyle (25.02) and the 100 freestyle (55.63).

Bishop Gorman 191, Bonanza 42 — At Pavilion, Nick Salvador, Matthew Golez and Aidan Kennelly each took two events to lead the Gaels by the Bengals.

Salvador won the 50 freestyle in 23.33 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.71. Golez took the 200 individual medley in 2:12.15 and the 100 butterfly in 59.4. Kennelly captured the 200 freestyle in 2:08.7 and the 500 freestyle in 6:02.65.

Legacy 167, Durango 91 — At Pavilion, Isaiah Magsino won the 200 individual medley (2:02.13) and the 100 butterfly (55.41) to help the Longhorns defeat the Trailblazers.

Durango’s Nicholas McDowell won both the 100 freestyle (50.13) and the 500 freestyle (4:44.65).

Green Valley 191, Canyon Springs 50 — At Pavilion, Kyle McKercher and Michael Velazquez each won two events to lead the Gators by the Pioneers.

McKercher took the 200 individual medley in 2:07.13 and the 100 butterfly in 57.25, and Velazquez touched first in the 200 freestyle (1:51.97) and the 100 breaststroke (1:01.34).
