SOFTBALL: Lili Gutierrez’s two-run HR in 7th caps Rancho rally

Lili Gutierrez hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh Friday, and Rancho’s softball team rallied with nine runs in its final at-bat to stun visiting Foothill, 15-14.

Lorena De La Torre had a three-run double in the seventh for Rancho, which trailed 14-3 heading to the bottom of the sixth.

Gianna Carosone was 4-for-5 and drove in five runs for the Rams, including a three-run homer in the sixth.

Katerina Anthony was 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI, and Sam Pochop was 2-for-5 with a double and a triple for Rancho.

Katelyn Enzweiler went 3-for-5 with a double and five RBIs to lead the Falcons.

Sadie Christian was 2-for-5 with a triple and an RBI, and Caitlyn Stevenson was 2-for-6 with a double, triple and an RBI for Foothill, which scored 10 runs in the top of the sixth.

Centennial 9, Faith Lutheran 8 — At Centennial, Skyler Ball singled home Jasmine Rivera with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Bulldogs past the Crusaders.

Brianna Benoit was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs, and Jaden Tate was 4-for-4 and drove in a run for Centennial, which scored twice in the seventh to rally.

Audrey Kirsch was 2-for-2 and hit a two-run homer in the top of the seventh to put Faith Lutheran ahead, 8-7. The Crusaders plated six runs in the inning to overcome a 7-2 deficit.

Clara Heislen was 3-for-4, and Ryleigh Gilchrist was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Faith Lutheran.

Shadow Ridge 17, Legacy 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Shadow Ridge’s Shea Clements hit a solo home run, and Jasmine Martin went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI, as the Mustangs defeated the Longhorns in three innings.

Mia Voges hit a three-run double, and Caitlyn Covington, Alisha Schultz, and Sydney Morgan each added a run-scoring double for Shadow Ridge, which scored 12 runs in the first inning.

Shelbi Denman tossed two shutout innings to get the victory.

Palo Verde 19, Cimarron-Memorial 1 — At Palo Verde, Ally Snelling went 2-for-3 with a grand slam and five RBIs, and Makall Whetten was 3-for-3 with a solo home run to lead the Panthers over the Spartans.

Cara Beatty went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, Makena Martin went 2-for-2 with two doubles and three RBIs, and Grace Chavez went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Palo Verde.

Taylor Askland pitched all three innings to earn the victory.

Cimmaron’s Kaeley Roldan went 1-for-2 with a double.

Pahrump Valley 25, Durango 5 — At Durango, Jill Smith hit two home runs, and Jackie Stobbe also homered in the Trojans’ four-inning victory over the Trailblazers.

Terrena Martin added a double for Pahrump, which scored 13 runs in the first inning.

Isabel Perez hit a three-run homer in the second inning for Durango. Keely Thompson and Raven Sargent each had a double for the Trailblazers.

Chaparral 12, Valley 2 — At Chaparral, Losi Brown tossed a complete game with nine strikeouts and allowed only one hit in the Cowboys’ victory over the Vikings.

Chaparral’s Fiona Togogae went 2-for-2 with two RBIs, and teammate Sam Coronado went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Brown added a two-run double.

Zahria Candler had the lone hit for Valley.

Mojave 19, Clark 4 — At Mojave, Anastasia Evans hit a double and a triple, and the Rattlers defeated the Chargers in three innings.

Larissa Lynn and Jessica Ortiz each hit a double, and Ariel Wilson hit a triple for Mojave.

Mojave’s Ariel Wilson came on in relief in the first inning and pitched the rest of the game to earn the victory.

Green Valley 16, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Green Valley, Gennie Simington went 2-for-3 with two triples and three RBIs, and the Gators scored eighht runs in the first en route to a three-inning win over the Miners.

Tyre Hilton went 2-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs, Alexa Blazek was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, and Jalen Jones added a double for Green Valley.

Del Sol 15, Desert Pines 5 — At Del Sol, Jazmine Rivera pitched a complete game and went 3-for-4 with a double, triple and three RBIs to lead the Dragons past the Jaguars.

Selena Erickson was 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs, and Yadira Martinez finished 2-for-2 with two triples and three RBIs for Del Sol.

Ayanna Johnson and Mireyah Ortiz each went 3-for-3 to lead Desert Pines.

Needles 19-20, Mountain View 0-0 — At Mountain View, Jaycee Fragoso was 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, a home run and two RBIs in the second game to help the Mustangs sweep a doubleheader from the Saints.

Brenna Chavez was 2-for-3 with a triple, a homer and two RBIs for Needles in the nightcap. Mustangs pitcher Kortney Fletcher went all three innings and struck out four without allowing a hit.

In the opener, Fragoso struck out six and pitched three hitless innings.

Chavez was 2-for-2 with a double, triple and three RBIs, and Fletcher finished 2-for-3 with two triples and three RBIs for the Mustangs.

Pahranagat Valley 20-15, Indian Springs 3-0 — At Alamo, Kyla Shumway hit a three-run home run and finished with four RBIs in the opening game of the Panthers’ doubleheader sweep of the Thunderbirds.

Karley Whipple had a double and three RBIs, Madison Harris had a double and two RBIs, and Morgan Harris hit a two-run home run for Pahranagat Valley.

Kaitlyn Davis went the distance and struck out four batters to earn the victory.

Indian Springs’ Halle Jackson hit a two-run home run in the third inning.

In the second game, Whipple drove in four runs, and Madison Harris hit a three-run home run to lead the Panthers.

Ashlyn Wadsworth and Morgan Harris each had a double and two RBIs, and Kaitlyn Davis had a triple and an RBI for Pahranagat Valley.

Wadsworth allowed one hit and struck out five batters in three innings to get the win.

Lake Mead 16-22, Laughlin 4-5 — At Laughlin, the Eagles swept a doubleheader from the Cougars.

Lincoln County 18-18, The Meadows 1-3 — At The Meadows, the Lynx swept a doubleheader from the Mustangs.
