SOFTBALL: Boulder City squeezes out win over Tech

Ryann Reese scored on Jordan Moorhead’s bunt single with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Boulder City’s softball team a 3-2 victory over visiting Tech on Friday.

Bailey Bennett-Jordan went the distance to get the win. She allowed two runs in the first before settling in to throw a five-hitter with 12 strikeouts and no walks.

Reese was 3-for-4 with double and two runs, and Moorhead was 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI.

Del Sol 3, Virgin Valley 2 — At Del Sol, Jeannette Poulson singled home the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning to lift the Dragons past the Bulldogs.

Selena Erickson tripled and scored on Poulson’s hit.

Jazmine Rivera picked up the win from the circle.

Savannah Price struck out 10 over six innings, and Melissa Vanosdale tripled for Virgin Valley.

Coronado 19, Green Valley 6 — At Green Valley, Dylan Underwood was 4-for-5 with a double, a triple, four runs and three RBIs to help the Cougars to the five-inning win over the Gators.

Tatum Spangler was 3-for-4 with a double and five RBIs for Coronado, and teammate Ashley Ward went 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs.

Savannah Fabro was 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI for Green Valley.

Foothill 12, Eldorado 2 — At Eldorado, Kylie Becker was 4-for-5 with three doubles, two runs and two RBIs as the Falcons defeated the Sundevils.

Haleigh Olive went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs, and Saide Christian was 2-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI for Foothill. Rhian Allen went 2-for-3 with two runs for the Falcons.

Kristie Thomas was 2-for-4 with a double and a run for Eldorado.

Las Vegas 16, Valley 1 — At Las Vegas, Sabrina Saldate went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and the Wildcats defeated the Vikings in four innings.

Angelina Visitacion went 1-for-1 with three RBIs, and Nicole Forest went 1-for-3 with two RBIs for the Wildcats.

Hailee Bustillos-Hernandez relieved Las Vegas starting pitcher Angelina Visitacion in the second inning and finished the game to earn the victory.

Liberty 10, Silverado 0 — At Liberty, Breanna Alvarez went 4-for-4 with two doubles and five RBIs, and Soraya Seumalo fired a two-hit shutout in the Patriots’ five-inning win over the Skyhawks.

Ashleigh Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Liberty.

Faith Lutheran 9, Legacy 1 — At Legacy, Sophie Foster spun a three-hitter with 12 strikeouts and two walks to lead the Crusaders by the Longhorns.

Foster also went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Ryleigh Gilchrist was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI, and Maggie Whipple went 2-for-4 with a run for Faith Lutheran.

Legacy’s Angel Ortiz went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Shadow Ridge 9, Arbor View 4 — At Arbor View, Shea Clements had two triples and three RBIs to lead the Mustangs past the Aggies.

Caitlyn Covington and Alyssa Gainey each doubled and drove in two RBIs for the Mustangs.

Shelbi Denman allowed one run over six innings to pick up the win in relief of Alyssa Stanley.

Alyssa Trujillo doubled and drove in two runs to lead the Aggies.

Centennial 16, Cimarron-Memorial 1 — At Cimarron, Brianna Benoit had four hits and four RBIs, and the Bulldogs topped the Spartans in five innings.

Rhea Paiva and Kiana Tate each drove in three runs for Centennial, which scored eight runs in the top of the fifth.

Centennial pitcher Haylee Lupinetti allowed one run and five hits and struck out five to earn the victory.

Mya’Leah Bathea and Diona Whitley each had a double for Cimarron.

Moapa Valley 11, Chaparral 10 — At Overton, Adria Messer’s two-run single in the bottom of the ninth lifted the Pirates past the Cowboys.

Messer finished 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Sierra Staheli had a double and a triple, and Lainey Corwall tripled for the Pirates.

Emilie Barraza pitched 1 2/3 innings to pick up the win. She fanned two batters.

Losi Brown hit two solo home runs to lead the Cowboys. She also struck out 17 batters in a losing effort.

Brandi Vara, Sierra Shaw and Fernanda Rivas each doubled for Chaparral.

Rancho 1, Madera (Calif.) 0 — At Fresno, California, Yvette Sanchez’s squeeze bunt plated Gianna Carosone with the winning run in the seventh to lift the Rams over the Coyotes at the Washington Union Invitational.

Sam Pochop tossed a two-hit shutout and had 11 strikeouts. Pochop also went 2-for-3 with a double.

Rancho 1, Syracuse (Utah) 0 — At Fresno, California, Lorena De La Torre’s squeeze bunt in the bottom of the seventh gave the Rams the victory over Syracuse (Utah) at the Washington Union Invitational.

Carosone scored the winning run and went 1-for-3. MacKenzie Perry went 1-for-2 for the Rams.

Pochop tossed her second shutout of the day and allowed just one hit while striking out 12 batters.
