ROUNDUP: Rancho sneaks past Chaparral

Daisy Valenzuela singled home Alex Padilla with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Rancho a 3-2 win over visiting Chaparral on Tuesday.

Padilla walked with one out and went to third on a double by Amber Marlett.

Valenzuela had three hits and two RBIs for the Rams.

Marlett went the distance, allowing no earned runs on two hits. She struck out 12.

Las Vegas 14, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Monique Hernandez and Erin Gliddon combined on a one-hitter as the Wildcats routed the Jaguars.

Bri Guzman had two doubles for Las Vegas, which led 13-0 after two innings.

Valley 17, Canyon Springs 2 — At Canyon Springs, winning pitcher Mickayla Romero had a triple and a double to lead the Vikings to a six-inning romp.

Romero struck out 10.

Valley’s Vanessa Corona added two triples and a double, and Christina Medina had a triple and a double.

Sierra Vista 13, Bishop Gorman 4 — At Sierra Vista, Ashley Krumme went 5-for-5 with a double and three runs as the Mountain Lions downed the Gaels.

Maria Capparelli tossed a three-hitter and went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs and two RBIs for Sierra Vista. Domenica Bianco went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Gorman’s Aaryn Ellenberg was 2-for-3.

Bonanza 2, Desert Oasis 1 — At Bonanza, Emily Osborn scored the winning run from third base on a dropped fly ball in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Bengals improved to 14-0.

Courtney Spencer tossed a four-hitter and struck out eight for Bonanza. Osborn supplied a double.

The Diamondbacks’ Desiree Laswell also tossed a four-hitter and fanned seven.

Durango 6, Clark 1 — At Clark, Jaexie Balilea went 2-for-4 with a double and Samantha Juarez added two hits, including a double, as the Trailblazers downed the Chargers.

Durango’s Ashley Hall tossed a two-hitter and struck out nine.

Pahrump Valley 16, Western 1 — At Western, Petra Beighley was 2-for-4 with four RBIs as the Trojans defeated the Warriors.

Taylor Raymer finished 3-for-4 for Pahrump, which scored nine runs in the first inning.

Spring Valley 9, Silverado 8 — At Silverado, Jessica Martinez and Katie Campo each went 2-for-4 with two RBIs as the Grizzlies survived a late rally to defeat the Skyhawks.

Both of Campo’s hits were doubles.

Mikayla Thielges was 3-for-4 with three RBIs for Silverado, which scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Arbor View 4, Faith Lutheran 1 — At Arbor View, Amanda Jones tossed a four-hitter and struck out 14 to lead the Aggies past the Crusaders.

Jones also went 1-for-2 with an RBI for Arbor View, which scored three runs in the fifth inning.

Boulder City 11, Needles 2 — At Needles, Calif., Taylor McKeever was 2-for-2 with three RBIs to help the Eagles beat the Mustangs.

Boulder City’s Paxton Fleming was 3-for-4 with two RBIs.

Pahranagat Valley 11-14, Tonopah 1-1 — At Alamo, Addie Canning got the win in both ends of a doubleheader as the Panthers swept the Muckers.

Canning struck out eight of the first nine batters in the opener and had 14 strikeouts in the game.

Roxie Lasike had a home run for Pahranagat Valley in the opener. Molly Hansen and Tammy Spencer each homered in the second game.

The Meadows 17, Sandy Valley 5 — At The Meadows, Kristen Keach went 3-for-3 with two RBIs to lead the Mustangs past the Sidewinders.

Gaby Aldabbagh was 2-for-2 with two runs scored for The Meadows, which used a nine-run second inning to take a 13-1 lead.
