ROUNDUP: Huff, Harrison propel Henderson International to Spring Slam title

Brittany Huff was 3-for-4 with two triples and four RBIs to carry Henderson International’s softball team to an 11-6 victory over Battle Mountain on Saturday in the championship game of the Spring Slam at Mountain View.

Lee Harrison earned a complete-game victory in the circle and went 4-for-4 for the Wolverines.

Henderson International outhit Battle Mountain, 18-12. The Wolverines used a five-run fourth inning to take a 7-4 lead and led the rest of the way.

Victor Valley Christian (Calif.) 9, Lake Mead 1 — At Mountain View, the Eagles allowed six runs in the bottom of the fifth to drop the third-place game in the Spring Slam.

Carlin 8, Mountain View 2 — At Mountain View, Carlin pitcher Sam Salisbury retired the final 13 batters she faced to help the Railroaders beat the Saints in the fifth-place game of the Spring Slam.

Lexi Alley was 3-for-3 with an RBI for Mountain View.

Henderson International 11, Victor Valley Christian 3 — At Mountain View, Alyssa Ayers was 3-for-4 with two triples and a double to spark the Wolverines past the Royals.

Mountain View 9, Carlin 4 — At Mountain View, Alley was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs to lift the Saints. Valencia Casey went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs.

Winslow (Ariz.) 6, Centennial 5 — At Winslow, Ariz., Bernice Gover hit a two-run homer with one out in the bottom of the seventh to give Winslow the win in the Winslow Tournament.

Centennial’s Katie Lee hit a two-run homer to highlight a four-run first inning.

Centennial 9, Snowflake (Ariz.) 1 — At Winslow, Johnna Brown was 2-for-3 with a double, a  home run and four RBIs as the Bulldogs rolled to the four-inning win.

Paige Reese was 2-for-2 with two RBIs for Centennial.

Centennial 5, Joseph City (Ariz.) 0 —
At Winslow, Jennifer Watkins fired a four-hitter to lead the Bulldogs.

Watkins struck out nine and walked none.

Lindsay Konopelko hit a solo home run, and Brandy Thaw went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs for Centennial.
