Roundup: Coronado takes down Rancho

Cierra Sawyer pitched four scoreless innings of relief on Saturday to lead Coronado’s softball team to a 7-2 road victory over Rancho.

Tatum Spangler started the game in the circle for the Cougars and hit a double.

Liliana Gutierrez was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Rams.

Foothill 10, Silverado 3 — At Foothill, Leah Becker threw a complete game and went 3-for-4 with three runs as the Falcons overpowered the Skyhawks.

Morgan Matsumoto had three RBIs for the Falcons, and Adrienne Higgins had two runs and two RBIs.

Jessica Boothe and Alexa Ostolaza each doubled for Silverado.

Green Valley 19, Las Vegas 6 — At Green Valley, Olivia McClain was 4-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and four RBIs to power the Gators to the five-inning win over the Wildcats.

Alicia Ortega went 2-for-2 with a double two runs and four RBIs, and Cristina De Los Angeles was 2-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs for Green Valley.

Las Vegas’ Kaitlyn Horstdaniel went 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBIs. Sarina Ramirez, Melina Fabian and Midajah Chavira each added two hits for the Wildcats.

Eldorado 16, Valley 1 — At Eldorado, Rashonda Stevens was a double short of the cycle with five RBIs and three runs to lead the Sundevils in a four-inning rout of the Vikings.

Mariana Maldonado tripled, doubled and scored three times for the Sundevils, Julia Guerra hit a triple, and Kerri Nasife hit a double.

Gabriella Morales scored for Valley.

Basic 17, Canyon Springs 0 — At Basic, Mikayla Berg and Jordan Stinnett each had a pair of doubles as the Wolves routed the Pioneers in three innings.

Berg had four RBIs and Stinnett had two RBIs.

Sanoe Helenihi tripled for the Wolves, and Izabelle Morales hit a double.

Pahrump Valley 17, Legacy 3 — At Legacy, Skyler Lauver went 2-for-5 with six RBIs to help the Trojans to the five-inning win over the Longhorns.

McKayla Bartley went 3-for-5 for Pahrump, and winning pitcher Allyson Rily hit a double.

Jalyn Joule went 2-for-3 for Legacy.

Liberty 19, Bishop Gorman 3 — At Gorman, Shelby Carvalho was 4-for-4 with a double to lead the Patriots over the Gaels in five innings.

Jessica Meza added a three-run home run for Liberty, which led 8-0 after two innings.

Liberty 16, Rosary (Calif.) 6 — At Gorman, Jordan LaSpina was 3-for-4 with a grand slam to help the Patriots top the Royals in six innings.

Carvalho went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run, and Meza was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and two RBIs for Liberty.

Jasmine Gonzalez added two hits, including a triple, for the Patriots.

Rosary (Calif.) 16, Bishop Gorman 0 — At Gorman, Hailey McCarthy was 2-for-3 with a double, and Alena Adamsen threw a two-hitter in the Royals’ three-inning win over the Gaels.

Pahranagat Valley 18-11, Tonopah 0-0 — At Tonopah, Hannah Castleton went 6-for-6 with a double on the day to lead the Panthers to the sweep of the Muckers.

Jessica Brede went 3-for-3 with five RBIs in the nightcap to help the Panthers to the five-inning win. Ashlyn Wadsworth was 3-for-3 with a triple and pitched a one-hitter to get the win.

In the opener, Morgan Harris was 3-for-3 with a double, and Kaitlyn Davis threw a three-hitter and fanned six to lead the Panthers to a five-inning win.
