Updated June 6, 2017 - 6:18 pm

Reed senior softball player Julia Jensen has been named the Gatorade Nevada Player of the Year.

The 5-foot-7-inch standout, who also won the award as a sophomore, finished 31-2 with a 0.94 ERA in the circle this past season. She had 386 strikeouts and just 24 walks over 209⅓ innings to lead the Raiders (35-4) to the Class 4A state final.

At the plate, Jensen posted a .438 batting average with 11 home runs and 39 RBIs.

She is a three-time Northern Nevada Player of the Year, and a three-time first-team all-state honoree. She has signed to play at UNR.

Jensen is the second Reed softball player to win the Gatorade Nevada Player of the Year award, joining Chelsea Cohen in 2009.

Rancho senior Sam Pochop won the award last season.
