Outlook: Veteran coach Pope, who guided Silverado to several state tournament appearances, returns to the high school game and will guide a program that brings back five starters.
“The Diamondbacks had a wonderful turnout for intramurals and tryouts,” Pope said. “They are a hard-working group with great energy and attitude for the game of softball.
“The new coaching staff and players are raising their expectations and goals with the hope of becoming a more competitive softball program.”
