SOCCER: Meza’s penalty kick allows Coronado girls to edge Clark

Olivia Meza converted a penalty kick with 25 minutes left in the match Monday, and host Coronado’s girls soccer team held on for a 1-0 win over Clark.

Rachel Morris made six saves to preserve the shutout for the Cougars.

Legacy 8, Western 2 — At Western, Brittani Snook scored four goals to lead the Longhorns by the Warriors.

Isabella Skrinjaric added three goals, and Karla Rodriguez also scored for Legacy.

Ellyson Reynada scored twice for Western.

Canyon Springs 6, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Leticia Godoy-Pacheco had a goal and an assist as the Pioneers routed the Rattlers.

Yareli Trujillo, Ashley Llanes, Vanessa Acosta, Dorian Sanchez and Karla Ochoa each added a goal for Canyon Springs.

Ochoa made three saves to earn the shutout.


Virgin Valley 3, Mojave 2 — At Mesquite, Moises Medina scored on an assist from Pedro Osuna-Gomez with about 15 minutes to play to give the Bulldogs the win over the Rattlers.

Osuna and Ulises Flores each added a goal, and Medina had an assist.

Eduardo Luna and Antonio Perez each scored a goal for Mojave.

Green Valley 2, Spring Valley 0 — At Green Valley, Ricardo Nunez scored two first-half goals to lead the Gators by the Grizzlies.

Salvatore Hicks made three saves to earn the shutout for Green Valley.
