Roundup: Riley Divich leads Faith Lutheran’s upset of Palo Verde

Riley Divich scored in the first half, and Faith Lutheran’s girls soccer team held on for a 1-0 upset victory over host Palo Verde on Monday.

Hannah Thomas assisted Divich’s goal, and Naia Mesalic had 11 saves to earn the shutout for the Crusaders.

Sunrise Mountain 1, Western 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, goalkeepers Christina Lark and Macy Stevens combined for a shutout win over the Warriors.

Lark had three first-half saves, and Macy Stevens had two saves in the second half to preserve the win.

Brisa Pena-Martinez scored the game’s only goal in the second half.

Shadow Ride 4, Cimarron-Memorial 1 — At Cimarron, Reese Simmons and Camryn Grant each scored twice to lead the Mustangs over the Spartans.

Justice Rodriguez scored for Cimarron.

Arbor View 8, Legacy 1 — At Legacy, Keily Larosee, Hannah Ferrara, and Sierra Vicente each scored two goals as the Aggies rolled past the Longhorns.

Ferrara and Larosee each had one assist.

Arbor View’s Jolianna Meyers and Deja Erickson each scored one goal, and Erickson also had two assists.

Jasmin Pizano scored for Legacy.

Cheyenne 7, Mojave 1 — At Cheyenne, Yadira Erives scored five goals as the Desert Shields rolled over the Rattlers.

Soraya Gonzalez and Lisette Medina each added a goal, and Maria Borrero and Mya Heard each had two assists for Cheyenne, which led 3-0 at the half.

Marilyn Membreno scored for Mojave.

Canyon Springs 3, Rancho 3 — At Rancho, the Pioneers scored three second-half goals to force a tie with the Rams.

Mallory Arnold, Paula Lopez and Herminia Constanza each scored for the Pioneers.

Saipress Jones, Zulma Flores-Vazquez and Faith White scored for the Rams, who led 1-0 at halftime.

Eldorado 0, Valley 0 — At Valley, the Sundevils and Vikings played to a scoreless draw.

Cynthia Barrientes made fours saves for the Sundevils.
