ROUNDUP: McLean, King strike early as Gators edge Skyhawks

Cassidy McLean and Rachael King each scored a first-half goal Wednesday to help Green Valley’s girls soccer team hold on for a 2-1 home victory over Silverado.

Evelyn Garcia scored for the Skyhawks.

Foothill 4, Del Sol 1 — At Del Sol, Kierstyn Cash scored twice to lead the Falcons past the Dragons.

Jillian Vigil and Raegan Janda each supplied a goal for Foothill.

Denise Munoz scored Del Sol’s goal.

Eldorado 6, Desert Pines 1 — At Eldorado, Chelsea Upshaw scored three goals to help the Sundevils cruise past the Jaguars.

Alexis Sama added two goals, and Autumn Moore had a goal for Eldorado, which got three assists from Emily Hipsak and two assists from Madison Granger.

Marisol Sierra scored for Desert Pines.

Tech 3, Liberty 3 — At Liberty, the visiting Roadrunners netted a pair of second-half goals to preserve a tie with the Patriots.

Elvia Duenas scored twice for Tech, and teammate Rachael Montoya had a goal and an assist.

April Ficarrotta, Ari Gonzalez and Maddy Chavez each had a goal for Liberty, which led 3-1 at the half.

Valley 5, Chaparral 0 — At Valley, Ashley Marra and Paige Tarr each scored two goals as the Vikings blanked the Cowboys.

Tarr also had an assist, and Rachel Watson added a goal for Valley.

Natasha Harris posted a three-save shutout.

Coronado 6, Basic 0 — At Basic, Kathleen Cuevas scored twice as the Cougars rolled past the Wolves.

Breanna McCallum and Michaela Morris each added a goal and two assists for Coronado, which got a goal apiece from Morgan Mavroudis and Kelsey Stipek.

Kaitlyn Fahrner and Melanie Frank combined on a three-save shutout.

Las Vegas 8, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Las Vegas High, Kara Bowden scored twice, and Alica Nunez had a goal and two assists as the Wildcats routed the Miners.

Mackenzie McCoy and Andrea Vidales each had a goal and an assist for Las Vegas, which also got goals from Gaby Morales and Emilee Bowen.

The Wildcats also benefited from an own goal by Sunrise Mountain.

Lauryn Horstdaniel made one save to claim the shutout.

Rancho 2, Canyon Springs 1 — At Rancho, the Rams edged the Pioneers.
